As I mentioned before, playing sports is a perfect habit to control our emotions and stress. Even though there is not a lot of free time to enjoy the sunshine and exercise outdoors, staying healthy is the most important thing. I want to say this one thing to the hard working ones: ‘keep calm and exercise: nothing is any good if you are not healthy.’

Should Mountain Biking Remain As An Official Sport?

Have you ever heard of mountain biking? Mountain biking, one of the most popular extreme sports, is a sport that is full of thrill but at the same time full of risks. The activity takes place in the mountains where there may be rough paths full of rocks and roots, or where there may be trails as thin as the handlebars of your bike! It is as risky as it sounds - many mountain bikers get injured during their biking career; they may end up with major fractures, organ bleeding, and many more horrible consequences. Hence, some say that mountain biking should be banned from being considered as an official sport due to its dangers.

However, some strongly oppose the banning of mountain biking from being an official sport, as there is such a large fan base. They say that coming up with new specific rules for the bikers is a more appropriate solution than totally banning it.

Surely, mountain biking provides thrill but also danger at the same time. What is your take on banning mountain biking from being an official sport? Do you think those who want the sport to be banned are simply exaggerating?

A Fantastic Rugby Trip - Matt Kwon

By Mac Hong, Junho Chung, and Nick Oh Matt Kwon (Year 9, Geomun) was one of our MS Rugby players who participated in the Korean National Spring Season Tournament. Our MS Rugby squad played very well and came third overall. Matt Kwon shares with us some of his best memories from the Rugby trip.

What was your favourite memory from the Rugby trip?

My favourite memory from the Rugby trip was when our team collaboratively voted for the "Man of the Match" and the “Clown of the match" after playing each game.

The "Man of the Match" is the person who the team thinks played the best, and the "Clown of the match" is the...(you know... I hope I don't have to explain).

If you were voted as the "Man of the Match," you had to wear a princess crown (tiara) for the rest of the day, and if you were voted as the "Clown of the Match," you had to receive some sort of playful punishment.

I really liked the vibrant atmosphere when our Rugby squad got together to vote for each of the positions above. Every one of us laughed out loud while voting, and I thought it was a fun way to bond with the team.

What was your day like during the Rugby Trip?

That depended on whether or not we had a match on that day.

If it was a match day, our day looked as follows: 07:30 Wake Up 08:00 Breakfast 09:00 Match Preparation (Uniform Check, Stretching, etc…)

10:30 Head Over To Match Venue (Stadium) 11:00 Warm-Up 12:00 MATCH TIME! 13:45 Rest 14:30 Lunch 16:00 Prep + Recovery 19:00 Dinner + Prep 22:30 Sleep
