President’s Report
~ Cheryl Loesch
Well, another Convention in the books! It was sure good to be back at Convention, even though it was “rabbitless” for me, due to being in the quarantine zone for an RHDv2 case. With proper biosecurity cautions, it is possible to attend sans rabbits. There were a lot of big moments and excitement for Jersey Wooly breeders at this one! First, congratulations to our big winners, Grace Anderson and Steven Buell for Open, and Makayla Wallock and Cody Landis for youth. For the first time, the NJWRC booth won an award for its décor. We came in 2nd place, with a beautiful set of educational and fun displays on Kentucky products, put together by Julie Aversa. Julie certainly put a lot of thought and talent into the displays, and she also tapped into some crafting skills by a couple of fellow JW crafter and fanciers! I want to personally thank Julie for everything she did for the club for this Convention. The GFA went well this year. Thank you to Amber Henderson for her careful follow through with donors to bring us so many quality donations! Thank you to Brenda Reilly for being our auctioneer, to Haley Jewell for checking rabbits over for DQs, to Chase Austin for being our “Vanna” and displaying the rabbits, to Deidre Edder for taking notes on purchasers, and to the very many of you who helped with rounding up pedigrees, minding the lineup to go through the rabbits, and every other detail of the Auction. And of course, thank you so very much to those who donated rabbits, and those who bid or purchased.
There are many more thanks to give—so many of you stepped up and helped, and I am so grateful for everything that each of you did to help out. We had booth helpers, show table helpers, banquet helpers, awards helpers . . . and so much more! Alex Williams arranged our banquet; Haley and I emceed. Brenda Reilley handled purchasing the Sweeps awards,
