“So, what a wonderful time we all had seeing our friends again in Louisville this fall.” -Amber Henderson

Congratulations to Grace Anderson on her well-deserved win with her stunning Black Otter doe! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Tan so well-balanced. She was a natural beauty on the show table.

Big congratulations to Bettina Curletto for her Best Colored Wool win! Yay! Another big congratulations to Lori Robasciotti for her Open BOG AOV win with her striking buck Treble Maker’s Ferdinand. I won Open BOG Broken with LeSage’s Harmony and BOG Shaded with my doe Wonder’s Minnow. Everyone in our district at Convention had excellent placings and represented us well. Congratulations to all!

Convention was a welcome respite from our daily grind and the feelings of restriction and social isolation that we’ve felt at least to some degree over the past two years. So, what a wonderful time we all had seeing our friends again in Louisville this Fall. Being able to strengthen these friendships in person again was like being able to fill your emotional and mental bucket of refreshing water again after a long dry spell. Humans were meant to be social, and the friendly competition and camaraderie we share at big events like Convention is an uplifting cause for celebration. And we did celebrate!

Whether we were sharing freshbaked, gooey, chocolate brownies baked at a comfy Air BNB, sightseeing all around Louisville and sharing the pictures, having dinner with friends, hanging out together manning the (award winning!) NJWRC booth, going over rabbits’ faults and strengths with Youth wanting to know more so they can breed better rabbits, competing in Youth competitions, attending the awards banquet at a Brazilian steak house….it was all done in celebration of friendship and rejuvenating our shared passion for breeding beautiful rabbits. Attending ARBA Convention was certainly time well-spent for all of us.

Now that winter is upon us and being in a vastly diverse district, we all prepare a little differently. Some battle bitter cold and heavy snowfall in mountainous terrain, or dealing with damp during the rainy season, while others welcome the relief that comes with cooler temperatures in desert climates. However we view Winter, one thing we all look forward to is that there are more shows to attend! Please be sure to stay up-todate on the show opportunities in your area and communicate with your fellow district members to coordinate show attendance and sanctioning to get the most out of this winter show season. Facebook messenger is a great way to coordinate and stay connected. I am already enjoying seeing you all at the shows again and cheering you all on at the show tables! I hope to see you at more shows this Spring!
