Sweepstakes/Sanctions Report

“...I'm running into clubs that had canceled in 2020 & then completed show/s in 2021 without letting me know, so it's still coming down to members keeping tabs as well." ~ Nicole Schmitt

Hello NJWRC Members!

Well, another season (my SEVENTH with the NJWRC!) is done & in the books. I’m happy to report *all* sanctions were accounted for this season (I upped my collection game, for sure). Final sweepstakes are in this issue of the Fluff, and full results on the sweepstakes website. I’m not submitting any points for the 2021/2022 season (began 7/1/2021) for this Fluff because there’s just not enough completed shows to warrant it – but I’ll be getting an update on the site soon.

I’m not trying to guilt trip you (or, maybe I am!) – but I want to remind you to keep an eye on the sanctioned shows listing. A show catalog may well list NJWRC sanctioned – but if it’s not on my list, then it’s not sanctioned (yet!). Follow up with clubs, check in with me, etc. Shows can’t be sanctioned after the fact – so watch that listing. sweepstakes website isn’t only for confirming shows are actually sanctioned. It’s a real time listing of the status of ALL shows. I need your help as NJWRC members to watch for late reports, etc., as well. If you attended a show that I have marked as late for an extended period of time, you can jump in & assist. Contact the club, check in with me, share information. My work is only as good as the information I have. See a show listed as open yet that you know was canceled? Contact me, the club, etc. I’m hoping the canceled shows problem with start to resolve itself with simply fewer shows having to be canceled. But now I’m running into clubs that had canceled in 2020 & then competed show/s in 2021 without letting me know, so it’s still coming down to members keeping tabs as well.

OK, I’ll stop with all that now! Congratulations to all the winners! I look forward to seeing you in Kentucky!

son, Izzy Bukovich, and Michelle Landis. It is always good for the club to have new members with their fresh eyes and ideas. Communication between board members is better than ever. In the 80’s and early 90’s the board had to write letters to discuss business. Now we discuss a subject in a day or so by using FB messenger. I think our ability to communicate in a timely fashion has really made a difference in how the club can operate and run.

Things seem to be ramping up with more shows going on this winter. I hope to see some of you at a show. Enjoy showing again.
