A message from our President & CEO Dear Friend of NJPAC: There’s a lot that thrills me about NJPAC, but I couldn’t be more thrilled than to welcome you to the Arts Center’s 20th anniversary season.

Remember 1997? You could buy a gallon of gas for $1.22—a nickel more than the cost of a loaf of bread back then—or catch Titanic at the multiplex. In the metro area, attention was riveted on Newark, where a rare occurrence—the opening of a performing arts center—made a grand entrance on October 18 with a thundering cascade of fireworks over the Passaic River.

The brochure you’re holding is filled with performances of spectacular artistry.

And you are among the first to see our new visual identity—a boldly elegant and inviting rebranding of the Arts Center that speaks to our singularity now and for seasons to come. There’s nothing else like our freshly minted logo because, literally, the font was custom-designed for NJPAC. It represents excitement, festivity and engagement—and we here at NJPAC love it.

When you see our brand, whether on social media or a banner outside the building, you’ll recognize it as our “seal” on the more than 500 events produced each year on our stages and throughout the region. This lively, distinctive design, emblazoned on everything we do, will evolve over time, but I hope you’ll agree with me that we’re off to a swell start.

This season also comes with a gift: A “20 for $20” promotion (see page 48 for details) to accompany an incredible array of talent in store for audiences.
