Northwest Independent School District
Northwest Independent School District, home to more than 30,000 students across 34 campuses, provides premier educational services and opportunities to families in the northwest corridor of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

With a vision of empowering learners and leaders to positively impact the world, NISD is committed to providing all students with an education that prepares them for the future – whether in college, the workforce or military. That commitment extends beyond schools, as the district's mission is to collaborate with students, families, communities and global partners to engage in a culture of learning that prepares all students to confidently navigate their future.
The Northwest ISD story began in the late 1800s, when local schools were created to serve children as the population grew amid new railroads, general stores and livery stables. In 1948, the one-school districts of Haslet, Justin, Rhome and Roanoke joined hands to form Northwest ISD. New Fairview joined the district the following year, and in 1950, construction began on a consolidated high school.
Encompassing 234 square miles, Northwest ISD serves all or part of 14 cities, towns and communities. These include Aurora, Haslet, Justin, New Fairview, Newark, Northlake, Rhome and Trophy Club, along with portions of Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Keller, Roanoke, Southlake and Westlake. As one of the largest school
districts in the region, Northwest ISD’s geographical area extends into three counties: Denton, Tarrant and Wise.
With the addition of new students during summer months and continued growth, total enrollment grows by approximately 1,500 students per year. The district’s growth is a result of several factors, including the NISD reputation; the amount of active housing developments; the district size; and the attractive housing, retail and business industries in the immediate area.
Northwest ISD’s community has a history of passing bond referendums to keep pace with student population growth. To monitor construction progress across the district and view a timeline of previous bonds, schools and facilities, visit www.nisdtxconstruction.org.
Northwest ISD empowers learners and leaders to positively impact the world.

Seven Hills Elementary School
Northwest Independent School District’s Seven Hills Elementary School provides students with not only fundamental academic experiences but also leadership skills to last a lifetime.

First established in 1988 in its previous building, Seven Hills Elementary School serves families in the northwest portion of Northwest ISD in Newark and part of Rhome. The school is named for the seven hills located near the school. Positioned in an area primarily surrounded by plains, the hills are a unique geographical feature for its environment.
Since its opening, Seven Hills has received tremendous community support for its students and

staff. When the school’s original building opened, community members volunteered to move in furniture and teachers’ supplies so the school year would have a great start. This support was also evident at the last event at the school’s original building, where hundreds of former students and their families toured the previous school to say goodbye.
The new Seven Hills features Northwest ISD’s modernized elementary school design, including state-of-the-art learning features. Collaborative learning areas promote teamwork, while open spaces such as the library provide a sense of community where students of all grade levels can see their schoolmates taking part in classes and activities.
As a Leader in Me school, students learn leadership and life skills that promote academic progress while cultivating character. The school
became a Leader in Me campus in 2016, and in April 2019, the Leader in Me program designated Seven Hills as a Lighthouse campus for its strong work promoting leadership and character development.

Through the Leader in Me program, Seven Hills has empowered students to lead their own activities and learning lessons while cultivating a healthy school culture. Lessons focus on developing the whole student to reach new levels of achievement and confidence. The school’s teaching staff use the tools from the Leader in Me program to enrich the lessons students already learn in their classrooms.
Seven Hills Elementary School’s vision is to prepare students for college and their personal futures. To reach this goal, the school strives to ensure all students leave at or above their grade levels, no matter their statuses when they start.

For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.
