The aim of Laboratory is to provide medical laboratory testing services in accordance with the applicable standards to satisfy the expectation of clinical staff and the administration.

Services Offered:

Biochemistry related testing.

- UFR

- Urine Ketone Bodies - SFR - Dengue NS1 Antigen

- Serum Electrolytes - Serum Lithium

- Serum Glucose - Serum Urea - Serum Creatinine

- Serum AST (SGOT)

- Bilirubin (Total, Direct) - Serum ALT (SGPT) - Serum ALP

- S. Protein (Total, Albumin) - CK-NAC

- CRP - CSF – Protein - Cholesterol (Total, HLD, TG)

- Troponin I - Stool Occult Blood - Urine hCG

- Sterile Fluid (Report, Glucose, Protein)

Haematology related testing.

- FBC - ESR - INR

- PT/INR - APTT - Bone Marrow Films

- Iron Stain

Microbiology related testing.

- Urine Culture - Stool Culture - CSF Report & Culture

- Pus Culture - Sterile Fluid Report & Culture - MRSA Screening

- Rapid HIV Ag/Ab - RAT for Covid19 - PCR & Blood Culture

- AFB (Sputum, Urine, Sterile Fluids)

· Coordinating specimens sent to MRI, RIA, CEBH, NIID & NHSL based laboratories

The Laboratory functions full 24 hours, 07 days of the week. Lipid Profile tests are only done on Mondays.

Usually any Consultant/ Senior Registrar/ Registrar/ Medical Officer may order clinically indicated tests.

From time to time based on test patterns and availability of regents temporary restrictions may be imposed by the Director on identified tests.

As Laboratory tests are costly, Medical Officers need to ensure the decision to order a test is taken based on a clear clinical indication.

The Laboratory Services are subjected to the Clinical Supervision of the Consultant Haematologist and Visiting Consultant Microbiologist.

Laboratory is expected to follow all guidelines and regulations issued by the Ministry of Health.
