Subsistence and Transport Expenses for Discharged Patients

1. In accordance with the Mental Diseases Ordinance and Establishment Code patients can be given subsistence and transport expenses to return home after discharge.

2. To grant subsistence the Medical Officer of the Ward/ Unit should get the approval from the Director for discharge and sending home

3. The Medical Officer should also document on the BHT to the Office to issue the subsistence.

4. The relevant form should be filled by the ward requesting the amount.

5. The amount requested should be shown as a breakdown of cost for the relevant traveling path and traveling means 6. The amount will be issued by the Shroff after approval from Director/ Deputy Director/

Administrative Officer/Chief PHMA.
