Acquisition of Lake Tanglwood

Prior to 1985 the TLI (Academy Insurance) group had plans to build timeshare units around Lake Tanglwood. TLCA was then in a legal dispute over this plan and the Palmyra Township supervisors passed a zoning ordinance prohibiting time-sharing in all areas of Tanglwood Lakes. A settlement was reached by April 1986.

TLCA continued to grow and in 1987 under Board President, Jim Trunzo, three major properties were acquired: the beach property, land along Rt. 507 and Yacht Club drive AND Lake Tanglwood. The price was $120,000 and enjoyed a membership approval vote of 487 to 23. (“A History of Tanglwood Lakes Community”, pg 19)
