2001 ODYSSEY NUDE CLUB IS FORCED CLOSED BUT SHOW MUST GO ON!!

Fifty year old landmark location goes dark to in person patrons to protect against the spread of COVID -19 and to better promote social distancing. Yet to still provide entertainment worldwide to online patrons worldwide who are sheltered in place with limited methods for enjoyment. “At 2001 Odyssey we immediately agreed to conform with the Emergency Executive Order for closure of all Bars & Nightclubs statewide, within 24hrs of locking our doors, we found that the website we were directed to for application to the state to participate in emergency funding defined our establishment as Not Eligible. The state of Florida is mandating our closure but are not willing to assist us in any manner. So we made the decision to mirror what the Broadway Shows are doing and broadcast our stage shows via live streaming on the web. This allows entertainers & DJ’s a method to continue some type of revenue and provide a service to our regular in person patrons who can now watch and tip from the safety of their own homes” said Don Kleinhans, President 2001 Inc. This forced closure although completely understood and agreed to be necessary for social distancing, it is greatly unfortunate that this business due to it’s “Adult” definition by the state now is left to fend for themselves however needed. Offering the live stage performance online via 2001live. com appears to be our only choice somewhat comparable to telework. This service will be available via limited hours 9pm eastern till midnight.

As we all know bars, restaurants and adult clubs are all shut down during the Covid-19 crisis. All of us have been forced out of jobs and wondering what is next? Here is what a few of the owners and clubs are doing during this time:
WHAT’S HAPPENING DURING THE COVID-19 SHUTDOWN?
Rich Bantock is the owner of Silks Adult Entertainment located in Palm Harbor and he has owned the club for twenty years. Rich is a multi-talented guy who also owns a few other businesses including a sports bar, an ATM company and he is a licensed real estate agent and a broker of liquor licenses.

What makes Rich a little different? He paid his entire Silks staff one week’s pay out of his pocket when the clubs were shut down on March 15 due to Covid-19. He has also helped people fill out the paperwork needed for assistance and he answers his cell phone 99% of the time.
During this shutdown time, Rich has hired a few of his employees to help clean the club, do maintenance work and even paint. The club is setting up sanitizing stations and will train all staff members in proper cleaning methods. Rich was awarded the NightMoves Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 and is a valued friend.
Adam is owner of 4-Play Gentlemen’s Lounge and
Sinsations Vegas Style Lounge
and is also doing something unique for industry workers. Adam is serving a FREE family-style dinner to all industry workers every Sunday at
Cravingz (next door to 4-Play) in St. Petersburg. For more information see the ad on page thirty-one. 4-Play also installed a new top to their stage and the club was deep cleaned.
Tom Foxhill from Atlantis Gentlemen’s Club has started a GoFundMe page and is matching 100% of people’s donations with a club tab so you will be ready when the club reopens (if you donate $20, you receive a $20 club tab good at the bar, for lap dances and/or champagne room fees)! He is helping his staff in any way possible.
The SES Clubs are cleaning and The Gold Club is updating their bars and stages. Rob Rice is doing a deep cleaning of Thee Manor and re-training his staff how to keep the club sanitized once things are opened.
Oasis is not only doing improvements to the club but they are having a weekly food & supply drives where any entertainer who needs food and/or home supplies can come to the club and get them. General Manager Paul Swikey is also helping entertainers file for unemployment.
These are just a few examples of what the adult entertainment industry is doing to help people and get ready for the reopening that will hopefully take place this month. I’m sure there are others but these are ones that reported to us s of press time. It won’t be the same and there will be some major changes when we are finally allowed to open, BUT the clubs will reopen and maybe we can get back to normal by the time July, August and September rolls around!
