NICK SEDLAZEK THE MAN BEHIND THE PHOTOSHOOTS.
If one were to look at Nick Sedlazek’s photographs, the viewer would never suspect that he is actually a graphic designer. In fact, his main interest is visual design for interactive elements, such as web, apps, and interfaces; an interest that has no ties to photography. Although photography and graphic design are considered to be two separate fields, for Nick, the two creative fields go hand-in-hand. Photography may have just started out as a hobby, but over time it has proved to be a great source of influence and inspiration. “I was first introduced to photography in Middle School. Ever since then photography has influenced all of my works. It teaches you to see in a new way. Plus, it can be used in a variety of ways”. What he learns from photography he utilizes in graphic design, and vice versa. As a photographer, Nick is much like the flâneurs from 19th century France. Like a flâneur, he prefers to be an observer than a participant. He allows his subjects to do what comes naturally to them. He does not want his subjects to feel uncorfomtable. He also believes that natural beauty of everyday life makes the best subject matter. Despite his way of photographing is laidback, he enjoys using technology to manipulate his photographs. Through technology he becomes a participant. “I love new technology. I like the ability, and sometimes the challenge, of being able to express a feeling in more of a design and technical manner. Expressing idea through technology”. Although he enjoys technology, his favorite photograph of his is of his dog Gracie. His reason is simple, “because I love my dog”. As much as he loves his dog, he loathes being asked about his future. “I hate these types of questions. I don’t know where I see myself because I am influenced by so many different types of art; it always fluctuates. I just want to be successful at something I enjoy doing”

Guess what’s back? Back again. 80’s back, in this trend. Patone’s colors shows the world how 2014 is nothing but 80’s inspired. A time when the economy wasn’t so hot, but the clothes certainly were. 1980s fashion allowed individuals to express themselves in clothing, in whatever style they came up with. What a great decade to bring into the new year. Bold, bright, and exciting color palettes and styles.
