METALMOUTH

Concieved, sculpted in clay, molded in silicone, and polished over the span of a semester, this project is yet another child of the minds of mine and my frequent collaborator Leo Van Munching. Heavy, cumbersome, and clanky, they made their debut as part of his outfit line.

Eating is an inherently visceral act, yet at times it can be so painful and difficult that, at times, it may be easier not to eat at all.

A HOMELY DISCOMFORT

It is to be worn around the user’s neck, over the shoulders, holding the arms close to the chest.

Made with and care from: Forged copper

Created as part of a collaborative meal event, this piece ridicules the fine dining manners by forcing the user to move their entire upper body to eat.
