‘Twas months before Christmas, when all through my store I needed something different that I’d never sold before.

Customers bustled and browsed through our lines, but something was missing this holiday time.

When all of a sudden, my email started to “ping”, A new brand called POURTIONS, could this be the thing?

I went right to their site—light, modern, and clean, wine glasses and rocks almost jumped off the screen.

The idea for POURTIONS came about when I was reading another “sky-is-falling” account about obesity. While it’s easy to demonize foods, beverages and empty calories, I came to believe (like many others) that portion size was also a main culprit. From the corner donut cart to Big Gulps to “all you can eat and drink” buffets, portions have gone through the roof. Of course, the actual tableware we use everyday—plates, glasses, mugs—has grown exponentially in size as well.

This initial inspiration led us to design a conceptual line of tableware that deftly mixes social awareness with a humorous nudge in the right direction. It truly suits the way we approach solutions — practical, irreverent & engaging.

About us

Dan + Mary Cassidy are the founders, designers, and multi-hat wearers at POURTIONS™. We have long-established careers in the fields of advertising, graphic arts, and fashion. (The extended team consists of two ambivalent children and an indifferent dog). We’re thrilled to see our vision finally—8 years!!—become a reality.
