Position: Director of Development and Sponsored Programs Supervisor: President Status: Full-time, Exempt Location: Macy Campus Updated: 05/13/2016 Summary:

The Sponsored Programs Director is responsible for developing and overseeing all Nebraska Indian Community College administrative processes and structures supporting grants and contracts for federal, state and local government, as well as national foundations. Essential Functions: 

Oversees grants and contracts by monitoring goals, progress and compliance of grant contracts and partnership agreements to ensure positive performance

Prepares reports assuring that all required reports are submitted accurately and on time

Works with Project Directors to design regular reports on grant and contract activity within Nebraska Indian Community College

Ensures that overall performance activities and related documentation are done in compliance with grant requirements.

Assures that all pre- and post-award sponsored program functions are conducted in accordance with sponsor guidelines, institutional policies, and applicable laws and regulations. reviews invoices, reports, fund setup, and fund closeouts for externally supported sponsored programs;

 

Cross-train and assist other positions.

Responsibilities:

. 

Establishes grant processing and intellectual property forms, policies and procedures to assure that all grants and contracts reports are submitted, processed and administered in a manner consistent with laws regulations.

Monitors the effectiveness of appropriate compliance and fiscal controls for grants and contracts.

Prepares reports as required.

Provides administrative support

Maintain a grant archive that contains report supporting details

Knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics: 

Knowledge of modern grant administration practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof.

Knowledge of grants/contracts administration in institutions of higher education and funding agencies. Experience in compliance management and a broad understanding of regulations related to grants.

Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of NICC policies and activities.

Ability to maintain good working relationships with staff, volunteers, clients, and others.

Ability to integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solutions, and other outcomes.

Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment.

Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and to meet critical deadlines.

Ability to collect, analyze and interpret varied information and data, both in statistical and Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, marketing, budgeting, negotiation, strategic and business planning, communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work cooperatively, and well, while all while maintaining compliance with required rules and regulations.

Ability to conduct or work cooperatively with departments and institutional accounting staff and others to conduct internal audits

Flexible, resourcefulness, and creative approaches to complicated problems as well as an understanding of the wider NICC context in which these problems must be addressed.
