BACHELOR OF SCIENCE OR BACHELOR OF ARTS IN
ECONOMICS
A Powerful Educational Experience Economics, broadly speaking, is the study of how people and societies choose to use scarce resources. More specifically, it is a social science analyzing how consumers decide what to purchase, what to produce, and how the market system allocates resources. The economics program at Niagara University prepares students for a variety of careers in economics and business by developing their analytical and quantitative skills, teaching them how the economy functions, and how to apply these concepts in business. Dedicated and engaged faculty share their expertise, and encourage hands-on learning in a small classes which maximizes student learning.
A Cutting-Edge Curriculum Students have the option of two degree tracks, both include courses in statistics, business analytics, and econometrics. The bachelor of arts allows for greater flexibility to combine economics with majors outside of the Holzschuh College of Business Administration such as actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, political science, history, or computer and information science. Students pursuing the bachelor of science follow the core business curriculum, and can easily add a minor in finance, accounting, or management.
