4+1 PROGRAM IN
CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION A Powerful Educational Experience
While criminal justice students are completing the last year of their undergraduate career at Niagara University, they have the option to combine undergraduate and graduate degrees. By completing three graduate courses during their senior year, they will only need one additional year to complete their master’s degree (if they choose to become a full-time graduate student). Participating in the 4+1 program provides a fluid transition from undergraduate to graduate courses with an excellent faculty and university they are already familiar with. Niagara’s highly credentialed criminal justice faculty have research expertise in an array of criminology and criminal justice topics, such as courts and sentencing, restorative justice, white-collar crime, capital punishment and wrongful convictions, policing, and victimology.
A Cutting-Edge Curriculum
Students who enroll in the 4+1 program can count three of their graduate-level courses as undergraduate courses, reducing the time and money spent on their master’s degree. While the undergraduate program provides introductory courses in criminology and criminal justice, graduate students take a deeper dive into the criminal justice discipline with courses designed to further understand the complexity of the criminal justice system and its administration. The faculty collaboratively work to offer unique internship and study abroad opportunities tailored specifically for criminology and criminal justice students.
EASIER TRANSITION
SHORTENED TIMEFRAME
The program allows students to start taking graduate courses during their senior year. You can even apply during your junior year with approval from the department.
Students can obtain an undergraduate and a graduate degree in must less time than it takes to complete separate degrees.
LOWER COSTS Graduate-level courses taken as an undergraduate are paid for through the undergraduate block rate.
