Training Update – Learning Journey
Operation Monarch Learning Journey Stage Two Release Date: June 24, 2024
• Sign in and get started: Project Monarch - Training and Learning Hub (lhiniv.net)
• Learning Journeys live on a separate portal – not LERNH

• Learning Journeys are role-based
• Three to five stages of material will be released over the next few months
• Users are encouraged to complete the stages at their own pace
• Do not hold off training and allow stages to pile up
The Learning Journey will include:
Discover – An introduction to the Learning Journey and the HIS Explore – Become familiar with the most used areas of the system
Experience – Dive more deeply into your specific workflows through simulations
Perform – Learning Labs (Hands-on classroom training in small groups)
Adopt – Using the system at go-live with tip sheets and additional learning materials

Training Update – Learning Labs


Part of the Learning Journey (for most roles) is classroom training: Learning Labs
•Dates: Classes offered multiple times between September 9 and November 9
•Locations: St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, and Welland sites, as well as Hotel Dieu Shaver
•Times: Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., Monday – Saturday
•Schedule: We have received the schedule from Oracle and will be posting to LERNH for enrollment as soon as possible. Intend to have available this month.
•Enrollment: Managers will be able to enroll their staff through LERNH – working with Staff Scheduling to backfill for classes.

Training: Who is a HIS end-user






Open House Summary May 28 – June 4

600 staff and physicians came out to the Operation Monarch Open Houses across Niagara Health and Hotel Dieu Shaver to see the new Hospital Information System (HIS) first-hand and ask questions.
Members of the HIS training team offered demonstrations and explanations of the new workflows to be launched on November 9, 2024, when we go live.

Digital Dive-Ins

Monarch Digital Dive-In sessions provide program or discipline specific information with a focus on high volume/high risk workflows identified in the Start Stop Continue document.

Sessions will be held twice a week, June through to October, with topics being covered twice in the same week.



Sessions will last 30 minutes.

At-The-Elbow Recruitment

ATE'S WILL WORK ON-SITE AT ONE OF THE FIVE NIAGARA HEALTH HOSPITAL SITES OR HOTEL DIEU SHAVER FOR APPROXIMATELY FOUR MONTHS TO HELP ENDUSERS NAVIGATE THE NEW HIS.
THE POSTING IS NOW LIVE FOR ALL EXTERNAL APPLICANTS WITH A MINIMUM OF GRADE 12 EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT.
WE ARE SEEKING A VARIETY OF QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING RECENT GRADUATES, THOSE DESIRING ADDED CAREER EXPERIENCE, OR ANYONE LOOKING TO GET BACK INTO THE WORKFORCE.
