Training Update – Learning Lab Enrolment OPEN

Enrolment is now open for the most interactive and exciting part of the Operation Monarch training plan: Learning Labs!

Leaders and Physicians follow these steps to get started:

1. Review instructions on how to enroll: A Manager's Guide to Enrolling Your Staff in a HIS Learning Lab; A Guide on How to Enroll Yourself in a HIS Learning Lab; A Guide for Prescribers on How to Enroll Yourself in a HIS Learning Lab.

2. Or watch this video on How to enroll your team in a HIS Learning Lab.

3. Review the HIS Learning Lab Catalogue, which includes course descriptions to understand what content will be covered in these courses.

4. Open the HIS Training Map to determine which Learning Labs you and your staff are required to attend. Learning labs are assigned based on department and title.

5. HIS Learning Lab Enrolment Drop-In Sessions will be available virtually for brief demos and to have your questions answered.

Tuesday, July 23 – 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24 – 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

ACTION: Enroll your staff for HIS training. If possible, please schedule training for your staff in September so Staff Scheduling can start working on backfilling shifts as soon as possible.

Training Update – Learning Lab Enrolment OPEN

All about the HIS Learning Labs:

Dates: Learning Labs will be offered at multiple dates and times between September 16 and November 8

Locations: St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, and Welland sites (as well as Hotel Dieu Shaver for HDS staff and physicians).

Times: Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., Monday – Friday; and 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Saturdays, for select classes. There will be no classes on September 21, October 12, and October 14.

Training Update – Learning Journey Stage EXPLORE

• Operation Monarch's Stage EXPLORE Learning Journey is now available to all staff and physicians who currently interact with Meditech.

• For those with secondary roles, the Explore stage of your secondary role-based Learning Journey will be released in July.

The Learning Journey will include:

Discover – An introduction to the Learning Journey and the HIS Explore – Become familiar with the most used areas of the system

Experience – Dive more deeply into your specific workflows through simulations

• *Please note: the following roles are not included in Stage Explore: EVS, MDR, Patient Transport, Physicists. These groups will receive communication regarding their customized training plan closer to go-live.

Perform – Learning Labs (Hands-on classroom training in small groups)

Adopt – Using the system at go-live with tip sheets and additional learning materials

o Yes. To turn on closed captioning within your Learning Journey videos, please view our tip sheet on SourceNet.

HIS has prepared a Go-live Support Model

✓There will be three levels of support at go-live, rolling up into the Command Centre for overall coordination

✓Super Users and At-the-Elbow supports will be the ‘first line of defense’ for endusers

✓Monarch team members and resources from Oracle Health will be available 24/7 behind the scenes providing additional support

✓A robust ticketing system will be in place with a team of analysts ready to help

Digital Dive-Ins

Monarch Digital Dive-In sessions provide program or discipline specific information with a focus on high volume/high risk workflows identified in the Start Stop Continue document.

Sessions will be held twice a week, June through to October, with topics being covered twice in the same week.

Sessions will last 30 minutes.

At-The-Elbow Recruitment - Update

We are hiring approximately 300 At-the-Elbow Supports (ATE)

ATE'S WILL WORK ON-SITE AT ONE OF THE FIVE NIAGARA HEALTH HOSPITAL SITES OR HOTEL DIEU SHAVER FOR APPROXIMATELY FOUR MONTHS TO HELP ENDUSERS NAVIGATE THE NEW HIS.

THE POSTING IS NOW LIVE FOR ALL EXTERNAL APPLICANTS WITH A MINIMUM OF GRADE 12 EDUCATION ​OR EQUIVALENT.

WE ARE SEEKING A VARIETY OF QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING RECENT GRADUATES, THOSE DESIRING ADDED CAREER EXPERIENCE, OR ANYONE LOOKING TO GET BACK INTO THE WORKFORCE.
