Not only have our youth programs and public events gained traction, but through our collaboration with the NH Civic Learning Coalition, NH Senate Bill 216, the “More Time on Civics” bill, went into effect on July 1, ensuring increased civics instruction in the elementary and middle grades
I am personally grateful to the NH Civics Board of Trustees for their ongoing support of this important work, and for the contributions of our small, hard-working staff Backed by our civics partners and dedicated donors like you, our organization continues to be New Hampshire’s most trusted civics education resource Thank you!
Sincerely, y y, NH Civics Board of Trustees

Your investment in NH Civics allows young people from across the state to gain first-hand experience on the importance of citizenry and the value of participating in our democratic process.
This is an organization th provides schools with authentic educational ci experiences. We had the pleasure of working with very experienced judicial professionals. It has been an incredible learning experience for my students and me.
In late May, six NH high school students traveled to Washington, DC to participate in the Mikva Challenge National Youth Summit. They gathered with 100 other students from across the country to listen, learn, collaborate, and take action around the issues impacting them.
Civics 603! program engaged approximately 400 students in grades 6-12 throughout NH during the academic year, with the guidance of NH Supreme Court volunteers and
Michelle Bickford, teacher Maple Street Elementary School, Hopkinton
New Hampshire’s 2024 Kid Governor® Ellie Lively of Nashua was elected by over 1,900 of her fifth-grade peers across 102 NH classrooms. She and her 2024 Kid Executive Councilors were inaugurated in January 2024 at the NH State House.
Our youth program partners:
I watched several students come out of their shell through this project, as well as other students absolutely glow with confidence.
Logan LaRoche, social studies teacher Pittsfield Middle High School
Your support of our mission helps NH Civics to deliver on our promise of civics education for all.
Collaborative efforts by members of the NH Civic Learning Coalition resulted in the passage of SB 216, the “More Time on Civics” bill, signed into law by Governor Sununu. As of July 1, 2024, all K-12 NH public classrooms will work to increase time spent on civics instruction.
The William W. Treat Lecture, “Civics and Civility: A Conversation with Governor Chris Sununu,” moderated by Laura Knoy, was held at the Audi in Concord and livestreamed to hundreds of viewers.
NH Civics welcomed filmmaker and historian Ken Burns of Walpole, who shared his perspective on American democracy at a private fundraiser held at Emery Farm in Durham.
Over 100 K-12 educators and administrators across NH attended free NH Civics professional development workshops last year and accessed our free online curriculum library
I tell all of my civics students on day one that this is the most important class they will take in high school. Civics classes give our young people the best chance at becoming positive, contributing members of our great nation.
Dan Marcus, social studies teacher, Weare Middle School & 2023 Mary Susan Leahy Civics Educator of the Year
