thirty years . . . Thanks to you, we celebrated our 30th year! We are a strong, mission-driven

organization built on the vision of those who came before and the investments of time talent, and treasure of hundreds of board, staff, volunteers, donors, funders, sponsors, and partners. Together we are making a difference in the lives of NH children and families. We were honored to receive two awards in 2017: the Champion for Head Start Children Award by the New England Head Start Association and the Champion for Children and Families Award by Family Support New Hampshire. We are often told we do a lot with so little. Our small but dedicated staff and active and engaged board of directors want to express our gratitude to you. Every dollar and every hour invested goes toward creating a NH where all children grow up free from abuse and neglect. With every person who stands up and raises their voice for children, we get closer to realizing our visIon. Our collective voice matters. Thank you for all you do to support children and families. —Lara Quiroga, Board Chair and Keryn Bernard-Kriegl, Executive Director

Our highlights recognizing With Governor Chris Sununu, we recognized twenty-nine parents and caretakers, representing all ten counties, for their efforts in raising children in safe, stable and nurturing environments where they can thrive.

Celebrating We celebrated 30 years! New Hampshire’s best advocates for children and families joined us at the Currier Museum of Art to celebrate the accomplishments and hopes for the future. It was a fun night filled with trivia, music, exhibits, food, and old friends!

Educating Nearly 300 professionals and parent leaders (including seventeen from Wales) are ready to change knowledge into action after attending our summit, Resilient Communities: The Prevention Connection.

Acknowledging

After five years of implementing Period of PURPLE Crying at New Hampshire hospitals, we are working with a research professor at UNH Department of Nursing to measure the delivery of the program.

We were first in the nation to lead efforts to designate Family Resource Centers of Quality so parents, supporters, and the public can feel assured that children and families are thriving in their communities.

Supporting During April—Child Abuse Prevention Month— supporters across the state wore blue, planted pinwheel gardens, spread the word and raised funds so that every child can have a great childhood.

“I have really developed an understanding of the importance of listening to families first rather than talking at them. I don’t always have to carry the conversation. Sometimes just opening the door is enough.” —Family support provider

Partnering We increased our partnerships with businesses and community organizations like Camp Evergreen who sold baked goods to help us build resilient communities.

Advocating We supplied parents and community members with tools and resources to advocate in the interests of their children and families.
