of us. 2016 marked the end of New Hampshire Children’s Trust’s first 5-year strategic plan following our transition to professional capacity builder and advocacy organization in 2011. Over the last 5 years, we have implemented the Period of PURPLE Crying® in hospitals and pediatric practices throughout the state, reaching more than 96% of parents of newborns. Strengthening Families™ has been embedded in systems across the state, meaning parents, families, and children are benefitting from strengths-based approaches practiced by highly qualified professionals. Each year, we receive countless nominations from family, friends, colleagues, and community members recognizing parents in their lives for working through the challenges of raising children and doing the best with what they have. In 10 years, we have celebrated 250 of these parents at our Unsung Hero Awards in partnership with the Governor’s Office. We launched My Voice Matters, an initiative giving parents the skills and resources they need to speak up for their children and families. Thanks to collective efforts, New Hampshire has seen a robust advocacy movement to improve policies that support children and families. These successes were made possible by our generous donors, foward-thinking partners, committed board members, hardworking staff, dedicated interns, and selfless volunteers. As we move forward, we are adopting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Essentials for Childhood Framework with a public health lens to guide our steps in creating safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments for all children in the Granite State.
