ew Hope Academy is a KINGDOM School in the HEART of Williamson County. We are not only a KINGDOM school but a KINGDOM community – a gathering place for teaching, serving, knowing, and loving one another as God instructed and intended all His children to live, learn, and grow.

It is no accident that our school is strategically located. I like to say that we are at the intersection of Hard Bargain and Westhaven. We honor our commitment to be a connected community, and we proudly boast that we are a school where children of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds can learn together in a Christ-centered environment, looking through the lens of the Gospel, using an integrated approach to learning. When you look at New Hope’s demographics, it’s easy to see we are realizing our mission. With each successive class, New Hope Academy expands its footprint on a local, national, and global scale.

A Letter from Our Head of School

Dear New Hope Academy Community, As the holiday season approaches, I am reminded of biblical scripture and wisdom, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord! Come before His presence with thanksgiving in our hearts! Enter His gates with thanksgiving and come into His courts with praise…For He is good!

Friends, the Lord has been so good and faithful to our beloved New Hope Academy! Each day the Holy Spirit fills our hearts afresh as the Creator’s love and goodness flood our halls. We are in awe of God’s provision for our new Dining Hall for the Dining Hall represents God’s providential care of His people. Not only will it facilitate breaking bread together as a family, but it will usher in more communal fellowship! The space will no doubt support and facilitate our educational philosophy which commits to serving the whole child physically, emotionally, socially, intellectually, and spiritually. We are grateful!

We have attracted thousands of families and community partners to join us in our quest to transform lives, decrease generational poverty, and be the hands and feet of the Father here on earth.

My message today is simply this, Thank you for saying, “Yes,” to Setting the Table for New Hope Academy students. You are an integral part of our success.

When we set the tables for others, we are setting the table for future outcomes to be possible for others. In setting the table, we must first extend the invitation. In Luke 14:12-14, the Word says, Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Friends, we cannot only invite people we already know and people who are like us. That’s one of the beauties of New Hope Academy. We are not a homogeneous community filled with others who look like us, think like us, and act like us. We are to be intentionally diverse as is the Kingdom of Heaven! In John 21: 12, Jesus invited the disciples to come and dine with Him. Jesus set the table for the disciples to go out and share the Word with authority and conviction knowing that by setting the table, He would set the world up for

reconciliation with the Creator. To do this, he met both the physical and spiritual needs of the disciples. This is what we do at New Hope. We want to meet the needs of our students and families as we share the gospel of Christ with them. When we set the table, situations (or people) must be better than when they came.

Setting the Table speaks to our responsibility to serve God’s people and serve them well. As image-bearers of Christ, Christian love must result in service. If we do the will of God, we will invest in that which is meaningful, lasting, and satisfying. We must lead children into Green Pastures of the Word of God and make sure they are adequately fed.

In setting the table, we are asking you to help us feed and care for our flock.

Brothers and sisters, New Hope makes a difference in the world. We are changing the trajectory of so many lives. Frederick Douglas said, “It’s easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” Friends, help me set the table to build strong children.

Thank you for saying, “Yes,” to setting the table for our New Hope students.

On behalf of my New Hope Academy, I sincerely thank and acknowledge every one of you who has extended donations, time, effort, and resources to establish, maintain, and fortify this great institution. For this, we are forever grateful.

Finally, we always want to recognize our Savior Jesus Christ who is the ultimate gift of hope, love, and compassion. He set the table for reconciliation with the Father. We will forever praise His matchless name as He continuously shines His face and extends His grace upon New Hope Academy.

Welcome to Foster Hall with Paige Pitts On October 18, 2023, New Hope hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Dining Hall. This marked the first time that New Hope had added to its campus facility in over 20 years. It was a monumental occasion and celebration!

T

he 6,000-square-foot space will be used as a dining hall for school lunch, an indoor P.E. space, a space for school functions and performances and eventually a place for the community to use for gatherings and events.

“This dining hall will further enhance our mission and vision by providing a space for our faculty, staff, students and parents to fellowship together over a meal,” Dr. Tonja Williams shared at the ceremony.

New Hope founder, Paige Pitts, described the beginning stages of the design process, “I remember being in a meeting early in the architectural phase of this project, and I kept saying that I wanted it to feel grand

and to have wood beams so that architecturally it pointed up, to the one from whom our help comes”. And everyone informed me that it most likely wasn’t possible because of the expense. After a few months on the facilities committee, I realized I wasn’t much help and therefore rotated off, leaving it up to the experts to continue the planning of this space. So, I never knew that we were going to have exposed wood beams until they started building them. My heart almost exploded when I walked in for the very first time.”

The Development Team hosted an opening dinner for those who have supported the Growing Forward Campaign, current faculty and staff, and members of the Board of Trustees. At the dinner, Paige encouraged those attending to look up at the beams. She shared, “They are structurally holding up the roof of this dining hall. They lend strength and security. They provide support and stability so that this building can stand.

YOU are the beams for New Hope Academy. Those in this room tonight have invested your resources, your heart, and your imagination to ensure that New Hope Academy has this beautiful dining hall space. You lend strength and security. You provide support and stability to help us fulfill the mission and vision of New Hope.”

At the dinner, the Dining Hall was also given a name. Below is an excerpt from Paige Pitts’ message regarding the name: The naming of something or someone is important and significant. It has weight to it. In the context of the Bible, in the Middle East, your name is your verb. Because God is on the move, everything has movement, and your name reflects this. Naming something or someone for the Hebrew people is not identification, it is an invitation to participate. It is to “find your place” or “contribution” in the movement of God. So tonight, we want to announce for the first time the name of this new space – It is with beautiful intention and a humble offering to God that Toby and Amanda McKeehan, in partnership with our lead donor and the school, name the New Hope Academy dining hall – FOSTER HALL. Foster Hall is named in honor of Truett Foster McKeehan and Joshua Treven Lenox, two of our beloved alumni who are in Heaven with Jesus worshipping the King in complete fullness, and who along with their families have made an indelible impact on New Hope Academy and our community.

Truett, class of 2011, is a lover of humanity, intrigued by the intricacies of the human personality and was intentional with relationships. He recognized the value of people and was genuinely interested in others. He taught us to make room for others not like ourselves. One of his teachers commented that Truett would always make eye contact with you – a noticeable attribute that demonstrated his regard for others. Truett is endearing and winsome, he is loving and kind. His laughter was infectious, and his smile lit up the room. Truett greeted life with wonder.

Treven, class of 2013, had a playfulness about him that was irresistible and reflected the joy of the Lord. And in Lenox fashion, he was a servant through and through. He served when he wanted to, and even when he didn’t he served with a smile on his face. Treven was given to goodness. One of his teachers shared that he

brought the fun, the excitement, the laughter and adventure to the classroom. His heart for others was as big as his body. His kindness drew everyone to him. Treven greeted life with gusto.

As the McKeehans lend Truett’s middle name, Foster, to New Hope Academy as a declaration that God is Sovereign over all things and that our Good Father is making all things new . . . we recognize that the name FOSTER HALL is not a noun of identification. It is a verb of invitation into the movement of God. To foster means – to encourage, promote, further, stimulate, advance, nurture, cultivate, and champion.

This will be a place of fostering relationships, goodness, responsibility, integrity, service and generosity, justice and righteousness, knowledge and learning. This will be a place where we foster belonging and unity, an understanding of who God is and what He is like, and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

FOSTER HALL is an invitation into the movement of God! We are honored tonight to name this place Foster Hall. May it be yielded to God – for Him to fill it and use it for our good and His glory!

We can’t wait for you to look up at the beams. We can’t wait for you to be a part of all the good things that will take place inside Foster Hall. We can’t wait for you to continue to come alongside us to foster relationships, service, generosity, justice, righteousness, and knowledge among the students and NHA community. We can’t wait for you to come and join us in Foster Hall!

Letter from the Chair of the Board of Trustees Twenty-seven years ago, the Franklin community was introduced to a new kind of school. A new, independent, Christ-centered school was a welcomed addition, but not uncommon. A new, independent, Christ-centered school seeking the flourishing of all people was a game changer.

New Hope Academy took the words of scripture - the call for righteousness and justice - and breathed them to life.

New Hope’s commitment to being uniquely diverse and preparing all children to flourish academically, emotionally, and spiritually, sets it apart as a bright shining light on a hill.

It provides the education and life experiences that all children deserve. It provides the community and relationships that reflect the beauty of our Heavenly Father. It lives into the principles of Psalm 89:14, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.”

The New Hope mission is timeless and nurtures the flourishing of children for life.

As we navigate an evolving community, we continue to pursue the implementation of our strategic plan with a laser focus on intentionally living out our mission. We are grateful for excellent and consistent leadership and the many, many people who make up the fabric of this special community. We look forward to the years ahead and embracing all that God has in store. Thank you Lord for creating a place that is unique, united, and unparalleled. Thank you Lord for New Hope!
