Lowe’s Beautifies Netcong School

etcong Elementary School had a facelift this summer thanks to Lowe’s in Mt. Olive. Lowe’s coordinates what’s called the “Heroes Project. Lowe's embraces teamwork as a core value and a key ingredient in maintaining an engaged work force. Transforming lives one community at a time is the mission of Lowe's Heroes since the volunteer program began in our stores more than 10 years ago. The program encourages employees in a location to team together, adopt a volunteer project with a local nonprofit organization or K–12 public school and make a difference. Thanks to a Netcong School parent and Lowe’s employee, Courtney Vannieuwland, Netcong school was selected for multiple projects all donated by Lowe’s volunteers. met with Douglas Fischer, store manager, to review the list of potential projects. Beautification projects included a new retaining wall with plants by the outside sign, fixing the gymnasium stage, framing homemade murals on the elementary floor, painting bulletin boards, creating traffic dividers on hallway stairs, and installing a new counter in the main office in Netcong School colors. “This was an amazing experience for us. I was overwhelmed with the generosity of the Lowe’s employees. They became part of our Netcong School Family. Pictures do not do the projects justice. Thank you to everyone who helped out. We are indebted to all of you for all the improvements. I could not be happier, says Cinotti. This project is an excellent example of school and community working together for the greater good.
