Abilities Upgrades Technology Through Investors Foundation Grant
bilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. has received $10,000 from Investors Foundation for the purchase of educational technology, including tablets and Smart Tables, for the agency’s MSN (Medical Specialized Needs) and ISP (Individual Specialized Program) populations. Tablets are useful, particularly with non-verbal individuals, in enabling communication, while Smart Tables facilitate communication, learning and prevocational skills.
Use of such devices also improves physical dexterity and creates opportunities for group activities and peer interaction. All Abilities programs are designed to provide individualized support services that promote employability and community access for individuals with disabilities. “We are excited to share this news with our stakeholders,� said Abilities CEO Cynthia B. Church Serves Up Annual Roast Beef Dinner
irst Presbyterian Church in Hackettstown plans to hold its annual roast beef dinner on Sat., Nov. 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chapel Building on Main Street across from the church. It will include family style roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, bread & butter, beverages and dessert. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $8 for children under age 12.
