Packed program for Poultryfest Get ready for the egg-cellent annual PoultryFest this Saturday. This year marks the 15th PoultryFest, which celebrates Niagara’s $100-million-a-year local poultry industry as well as the spirit of community volunteers. Enjoy a day packed full of show, competitions, historical and educational displays, children’s activities, and plenty of great food to enjoy. “We have our annual favouritesthe discovery centre wih lots of baby chicks, the poultry show, car shows, mad science, and our kids’ zone. We’re just as big as ever,” said Mike Firmin, PoultryFest chairman.
Don’t forget to pick up your copy of the PoultryFest scavenger hunt, available at 9 a.m., for your chance to win a $100 gift certificate courtesy of Joe Dogs in Grimsby. Admission is free. Kick off the day with an egg-ceptional breakfast that includes: eggs, chicken sausage, home fries, English muffin, coffee or juice and live entertainment for just $5 a person. The giant craft show and sale will feature more than 60 vendors with a variety of creations and wares. The antique tractor pull and show will take place from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Check out the classics - 1960 and older antiques will be on display. The classic car and truck show will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
