Investment in rapid growth and international expansion At the beginning of 2017, NewIcon commissioned a comprehensive ERP system. The objective of the investment is to improve the efficiency of the company operations and improve its capacity in order to be able to respond to the global competition better. “The lead times of the products will be shorter. With improved quality and control, the online project data helps us plan the use of our resources more efficiently than before. This in turn enables a more precise predicted output,” Chief Operating Officer Juha Anttila, NewIcon Oy, explains.
All the core functions of New Icon have been integrated into the L7 ERP system delivered by Visma Oy. The system helps take care of project management and control, material handling, sales management, device control, maintenance operations coordination, quality control and financial administration. Another new feature is the cloud-based Visma LTR system for managing mobile work. It is particularly useful for the sales and maintenance personnel who often need information while on the move.
The Key Flag Symbol for Finnish work The Association For Finnish Work has awarded the Key Flag Symbol to the Fixu range of storage robots that help make the pharmaceutical services in pharmacies and hospitals more effective. “The requirement of at least 50% domestic content was easily satisfied. The Finnish origin of our products is visible in their high quality and operational reliability,” Marketing Director Jori-Matti Savolainen explains.
Odense University Hospital to test a smart medicine cabinet The Danish Odense University Hospital is testing a NewIcon smart medicine cabinet. The cabinet was delivered in March 2017, and the nurses at the Emergency ward (FAM). will be testing the eMED ICON smart medicine cabinet for two months. The pilot project is the first attempt to penetrate the Danish market, where dozens of hospital construction and renovation projects are under way. NewIcon has a Danish subsidiary where Hanne HansenNord started as a Key Account Manager in February 2017.
The personnel at the Odense University Hospital got a first look of the eMED ICON smart medicine cabinet on 28 March 2017. For two months, the cabinet will be tested at the hospital’s Accident and Emergency ward.
