Russian pharmacy chain representatives participated in the factory acceptance tests
Smart medicine cabinets to Central hospitals
In September, representatives of the Russian pharmacy chain Petersburg Apteka came to Finland to participate in the factory acceptance testing (FAT) of the Iso-Fixu medicine storage robot. The Central Finland Central Hospital has invested in three and the South Karelia Central Hospital in two eMED ICON smart medicine cabinets. In addition to these, the new Hospital Nova, to be opened in 2020 in Jyväskylä, may be equipped with as many as 40 smart medicine cabinets. The extension of the South Karelia Central Hospital will be commissioned next year, with plans to equip it with seven smart medicine cabinets.
NewIcon personnel, also visited Finnish pharmacies that already use the robot. This robot will be the first for Petersburg Apteka, which owns 85 pharmacies in St. Petersburg. The highlight of the visit was a visit to Puijo Tower, an observation tower located on Puijo hill in Kuopio. “Our guests were very impressed by the landscape – filled with forests and lakes – visible from the tower,” says NewIcon’s Sales and Product Specialist Antti Vesala.
The health technology framework agreement speeds up the automation of medical services in hospitals and health centres NewIcon Oy and Istekki Oy have signed a framework agreement for six years concerning eMED ICON smart medicine cabinets. Within the scope of the agreement are Istekki’s customer-owners: seven hospital districts, four cities, eleven municipalities and one joint municipal authority. The framework agreement speeds up the automation of medical services in hospitals and health centres. The first to act is the Pirkanmaa Hospital District, which is purchasing six smart medicine cabinets for Tampere University Hospital.
