Amherst and commuting each day to our studios in Springfield. With informal drop-ins and many Zoom
calls, he’s meeting the staff, getting insider tips for places to visit and things to do, and learning about the region he now calls home. This summer, he’ll be joined by his wife Jenn and his children Ben and Rose, who are finishing out the school year in Brooklyn. “I feel a very close connection to New England, where I spent my summers as a kid and later attended college. Even my passion for broadcasting comes from here — my uncle Jeremy Savage was a DJ in Worcester, Boston, and Hartford and I idolized him. It seemed there could be nothing more fun than working at a station. Even now, I still think that’s true!” says Matt. “This is an exciting moment for New England Public Media and I’m energized by the remarkable NEPM team and their shared commitment to serving the region.”
