Welcome to the 2025 Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade! This year’s theme, “Young at Heart,” celebrates the boundless energy of our youth and honors the generations whose dedication has built this cherished tradition. From late-night float preparations to early-morning lineup coordinations, “Young at Heart” reminds us that enthusiasm and service to our neighbors never grow old.
Please join us in Downtown Pittsfield—grab a curbside seat for Berkshire County’s largest annual gathering and experience what makes this parade so special. We begin by paying tribute to active-duty and retired veterans whose sacrifices safeguard our freedoms. Behind them, you’ll see our Grand Marshal, Madison Quinn, whose leadership of Strong Little Souls has inspired our community for over a decade; you can read more about Madison on the Grand Marshal page in this book.
Following Madison, our elected o cials and community leaders take their place, reminding us how every generation shapes Pittsfield’s future. Next, you’ll spot towering balloons and marching bands from all over the country, their colors and rhythms underscoring the creativity and teamwork that thrive when neighbors come together. Our local fire departments and first responders march proudly after them, embodying the same spirit of service and care that fuels this celebration.
Then the floats and community groups follow—each one, whether a small business, school club, nonprofit, or regional association, adds to our collective pride. Children and longtime residents waving side by side show how “Young at Heart” brings generations together.
We also salute every branch of our military—active, Reserve, and veteran—for their steadfast commitment. Today, we especially remember those who gave everything in service to our country, enabling us to gather freely and celebrate our independence.
The Parade Committee is made up entirely of volunteers. Early risers have spent the week setting up barricades, printing programs, coordinating tra c, and guiding each entry to its spot. Without the support of every resident, sponsor, and dedicated volunteer, this parade—our beloved tradition—would not be possible.
We pause to remember committee members who are no longer with us. Whether they planned routes, decorated floats, or cheered from the sidelines, their steadfast dedication continues to guide us in spirit as we carry forward their legacy.
Thank you for your support. Grab a spot early, wave to your neighbors, and soak in the “Young at Heart” energy all around you. It’s our honor to bring Pittsfield and Berkshire County together once again. May this day fill you with smiles, new connections, and a renewed sense of pride in our community.
Enjoy the parade!

2025 Grand Marshal MADISON QUINN Pi sfield 4th of July Parade
Pittsfield native, Westfield resident and Baystate Medical Center employee Madison Quinn has become the latest and youngest Grand Marshal of the Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade. A unanimous selection by the parade committee, Quinn is being honored as the Founder and Executive Director of Strong Little Souls (SLS), a nonprofit organization she founded at just 13 years old and has led for over a decade.
Quinn’s leadership of SLS has earned her recognition from the New England Patriots and Berkshire Community College’s “40 Under 40” program, which highlights exceptional individuals under the age of 40. What started as a passion project when she was a teenager has now grown into a significant organization that provides critical support to children fighting cancer.
“I was excited to learn of my selection and to have the opportunity to be part of such an esteemed event,” said Quinn. “Strong Little Souls has opened doors for me to speak at events like one in Arizona, where I had
the chance to share our mission and impact. We also raised $100,000 at last year’s Give Back Gala, which will help continue our work.”
As the founder and driving force behind SLS, Quinn leads the organization in providing care packages, meals, toys, and reading materials to young patients, while also advocating for pediatric cancer research. Her work is deeply rooted in personal experience, and she continues to connect with families, o ering support and hope to those navigating the challenges of childhood cancer.
According to Parade Committee President Rebecca Brien, Quinn is a perfect fit for this year’s parade, noting, “This year’s theme, ‘Young at Heart,’ aligns beautifully with the resilience, hope, and joy Quinn inspires through her work with Strong Little Souls. Her dedication to the organization has made a lasting impact on our community.”
Quinn is a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
