The Pickers have taken the points in both of their clashes this season and will be hoping the home ground advantage plays a part in keeping their season alive.

PLAYEROF THEYEARPOINTS As we enter the final competition rounds, round eleven marks the last public updates of the player of the year leader board and individual player points. The final results and awards will be announced at the Newcastle Rugby League presentation night.

2019 PLAYERPOINTS In 2019 the Newcastle Rugby League has moved to a new points system. Each club is entitled to register players a maximum 130 player points across the club in all grades (please note all Blues Tag players are all classified as zero points). In addition, on game day all first grade teams are capped at 100 points per match. All of a clubs registered players and their points value is available to view at www.newcastlerugbyleague.com.au/club-points.html

LIVESCORINGFORFIRSTGRADE All first grade teams for each weekend are posted on nswrl.com.au under DRAWS/BUSINESS PLAZA CUP. The first grade teams for each weekend are posted there at 5pm every Tuesday.

In another exciting development, all Newcastle Rugby League first grade matches will be live scored on the New South Wales rugby league website, so you will be able to view the scores and interchanges and they happen on the field. Visit the NSWRL website to follow the scores.

FINAL SERIES RULES M ATCH DURATION: Each match shall be played in two equal halves with an interval. The time of each match shall be; Blues Tag: 25 minutes each half Under 19s: 30 minutes each half Open Grade:35 minutes each half Reserve Grade: 35 minutes each half First Grade: 40 minutes each half

TIM E OFF: Time off will apply in all grades in all finals series matches.

SUSPENDED M ATCH: In the event of an emergency which leads to the match being suspended and not resumed (e.g. a player not being able to be moved), the following will apply: Su spen ded in f ir st h alf : if the total playing time is less than the first full half, the match is to be replayed at a later date to be determined by Newcastle RL. Su spen ded at or af t er h alf t im e: If after the completion of the first half, the match is suspended and not resumed due to an emergency, the match shall be deemed completed, with the result of the match being the result which stood at the time that play was suspended.

Ext r a t im e: If scores are level at the conclusion of regular time, extra time will

be played. Extra time shall be 2 x 5-minute periods, after the initial 5 minutes of play, the referee will cease play and teams shall immediately change ends. The team that did not kick off to commence the initial period of extra time, will kick off to recommence the second period.

If scores are equal at the end of extra time, play sh all t h en con t in u e on an u n lim it ed basis u n t il t h e f ir st poin t or poin t s h ave been scor ed (e.g. field goal, penalty goal or try) to determine the winner of the match.

There is no stoppage to begin golden point.

REPLACEM ENT OF PLAYERS: The replacements permitted grade shall be as follows:

Fir est or m First grade Kurri Kurri Bulldogs lost by one point in a game that was evenly contested as both teams were motivated to climb into a better position on the ladder. Tries to Tom MacKenzie and Jarom Haines. Disallowed try to Tyme Dow Nikau was the difference.

2n d Gr ade ? Fir est or m Kurri coming away winners 42-18 against Central - the team responded after a poor start from handling errors and put together a strong performance.

Strong carries by the forwards created space for the backs to capitalise.

With the team finishing 5th after the regular season, we are looking forward to playing semi final football and keep pushing forward.

It has been a good season with plenty of very entertaining games played.

This week, the West Ladies League Tag and the 19s will play in Week One of the Final Series against South Lions at Townson Oval on Sunday, commencing with the Ladies League Tag at 9.40 am and the 19?s at 10.50 am - come along and support our players.

Last Sunday, West Rosellas welcomed the Macquarie Scorpions to Harker Oval playing all five grades and winning four out of the five games.

CODEOF CONDUCT SUMMARYOF OFFENCES NOTE: Clubs are responsible for the conduct of their players, parents/carers of the players, coaches, officials and club supporters No per son (s) at t en din g a m at ch , f u n ct ion or even t sh all: (a) Use offensive or obscene language to any participant; (b) Enter the field of play during the course of a match without the prior approval of the ground manager appointed by the home club and/or Newcastle RL; (c) Excessively dispute the decision of a referee or touch judge either during or after a match; (d) Assault or act with aggression to any person(s); (e) Behave in a way contrary to the code of conduct and/or the spirit of the game; (f) Behave in a way which disturbs the enjoyment of a match, function or event by any other person(s), or brings discredit to the home club and/or Newcastle RL; (g) Act in such a way as to exhibit racial intolerance, by language or other conduct, to any person(s); (h) Refuse to accept the reasonable direction of the ground manager, official of the team/club which that person is supporting, or official of the home club and/or Newcastle RL, Br each es of t h e r u gby leagu e code of con du ct m ay r esu lt in pen alt ies, in clu din g bu t n ot lim it ed t o: · Suspension of a match and/or · Termination of a match (including potential forfeiture of competition points) and/or · Monetary fines and/or · Suspension of a participant on a temporary or permanent basis and/or · Suspension of a club, league or association on a temporary or permanent basis.
