Structural changes during anniversary year LANG AG Stand: 1-H50 2018 was an exciting year for Lang, as not only did the company celebrate its 40th anniversary, it also made key structural changes at management level. On 1 July Peter Mathia was appointed by the supervisory committee to the management board of the company. He shares this responsibility with chair Tobias Lang, thus doubling its member count. Mathia joined the company in 2006 a!er successfully completing his master’s degree. Following his first experiences in the LED specialist field he quickly became Lang’s lead expert in projectors. During his time as product manager projectors and head of service he decided, on behalf of the company, on the most successful 20,000 ANSI-Lumen projector in the history of the AV trade. Mathia is a pioneer in laser phosphor technology and predicted its success many years ago. Since 2009 he has been actively involved in shaping the corporate strategy as part of the management team and has held a large number of personnel responsibilities in the company. “Peter Mathia embodies the qualities of team spirit, family and competency. With his broad market knowledge and professional experience Peter has the tools to set the right course for our

Amplifier manufacturer seeks distributors B&K AV Stand: 5.S45 Amplifiers are the focus for American electronics manufacturer B&K AV, which is at ISE to find global distribution partners for all territories. Two amplifiers are currently available: the HTA 7.150 and the MRA 16.75+. Both models are designed by Morris Kessler. The HTA 7.150 is described by B&K as a flagship Class AB design featuring 7x150 watts per channel (wpc). The sonic performance of the product is, according to the company, the culmination of 45 years’ experience and is claimed to be on a par with any amplifier near its price. For the MRA 16.75+, B&K says it reimagined multiroom audio. Shunning conventional digital amplifiers, the company instead chose to design a Class AB unit delivering 1,500W total output at 8 ohms. It is, B&K claims, the world’s first residential power amplifier to offer different outputs. The MRA 16.75+ features 12 channels (six zones) at 75wpc and four channels (two zones) at 150wpc native with no bridging. Future models will include a phone-sized integrated amp and a one-of-a-kind modular soundbar, the company notes. “Integrators looking for unique, reliable electronics and speaker solutions should look no further,” said Barry Wosk, president, B&K AV. “Our products have been developed specifically for the demands of today’s integrated systems.”

enterprise. I am looking forward to leading our company with him,” said Tobias Lang, who has chaired the board since 2008. Both Tobias Lang and Mathia are looking forward to ISE in Amsterdam. “We are excited to showcase new technologies and varied application possibilities. As in previous years our booth serves as a platform for the whole Lang group. Next to the team of Lang AG in Lindlar, the teams of Nicola Votta of Lang Baranday AG in Zurich and of Ian Woodall of Lang UK in London are going to represent the Lang group in Amsterdam.”

IP in the mix STAGE TEC Stand: 15- R264

New detachable screens provide a more flexible set-up option for Avatus

Berlin-based professional audio technology manufacturer Stage Tec is presenting its IP-based mixing console Avatus as a theatre console with detachable screens for the first time. The company said many theatre control rooms are built so sound engineers are unable to see the stage from their mixing console. The theatre version of Avatus is designed so that the upper screen row can be removed and placed elsewhere. The Avatus IP console connects via standardised TCP/IP interfaces, and each module has its own IP address. Modules can be removed, configured and installed anywhere within the network. The audio console comes without a centre section and consists of only three different modules. It is available in sizes of between 12 and 96 faders. René Harder, a member of the Stage Tec management board, said Avatus was developed “to create an optimal symbiosis of flexible touch technology and proven haptic control elements. The concept, based entirely on IP technology, is suitable for a wide variety of situations. Avatus can be tailored to various applications in theatre, broadcast and live.”
