Call 01252 713208/email gallery@newashgate.org.uk to confirm your place. Jonathan Parsons, Artist, Writer and Lecturer Jonathan Parsons is an artist, writer and lecturer active since 1990. He came to prominence in 1997 when his dissected map sculpture Carcass (1994) was selected for inclusion in the notorious Sensation exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, which toured to Berlin and New York. Recent exhibitions include: The Art of Mapping (TAG Fine Arts, London), Abigail Reynolds & Jonathan Parsons: A Dialogue on Landscape & Constable (Salisbury Arts Centre), Waldweben (Kasteel Schuurlo, Belgium), and the Jerwood Sculpture Prize (Jerwood Space, London). He has taught Fine Art at numerous Higher Education Institutions around the country and is currently visiting lecturer in Fine Art at UCA, Farnham. His work is represented in public collections in the UK and private collections around the world. Jonathan is the lead artist for arc, the professional development programme for artists in South East, managed by the aspex gallery, Portsmouth.
The meeting is part of the Surrey Artist of the Year 2012 programme at the New Ashgate Gallery, supported by Baines Charitable Trust. The programme has been organised by New Ashgate Gallery in partnership with Surrey Arts.
