BRONAUGH FFA

FEBRUARY 17 - 24, 2024 The Bronaugh FFA Chapter has proven itself as a powerhouse of dedication, hard work, and community spirit throughout the year. From engaging in community service to participating in state events, the chapter’s commitment to becoming exemplary leaders in Agriculture shines both within the chapter and beyond in the broader community. Members of the Bronaugh FFA Chapter have actively participated in a myriad of events, showcasing their passion for leadership in Agriculture. Noteworthy among these are FFA Camp, Area 9 Officer Training, National Convention, Barnwarming, Area Greenhand Conferences, Vernon County Youth Fair, and various other impactful activities. The chapter’s engagement in these events underscores its commitment to fostering leadership skills among its members. The heart of the Bronaugh FFA Chapter lies in its diverse and active members who, beyond participating in FFA events, also undertake individual Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects. Ranging from running lawn mowing businesses to raising livestock and working for local farmers, these projects demand dedication, time management, and hard work. Through their SAE projects, members not only contribute to the

agricultural landscape but also acquire invaluable life skills. Bronaugh FFA members are not only leaders in agriculture but are also actively involved in multiple activities throughout high school, including sports, yearbook, FCCLA, and more. Their ability to balance various commitments is a testament to their resilience and determination. With the year unfolding, Bronaugh FFA members are eagerly anticipating an array of upcoming activities. The chapter is currently gearing up for FFA Week, with a series of exciting events planned. Activities range from attending local church services on Sunday to ice skating on Monday. Tuesday will witness the halls of Bronaugh High School filled with members donning official dress, expressing gratitude to teachers and staff with homemade pie. Wednesday promises an active display of the members’ prowess as they compete in the Ag Olympics – a set of games related to agriculture. A special highlight includes members performing a skit for elementary students, aiming to ignite excitement about their future potential within FFA. Tractors will adorn the school parking lot on Friday, accompanied by short sessions for elementary students on farm safety. In a gesture of appre-

ciation towards the local community and supporters, the Bronaugh FFA Chapter will be serving breakfast in the school cafeteria on Saturday, February 24th. While there is no cost for the breakfast, donations are welcomed and will be channeled towards future FFA events. The Bronaugh FFA Chapter continues to inspire not only within the realm of agriculture but also in the broader context of community engagement and leadership. As they look forward to the remainder of the year, the chapter’s members are poised to leave an indelible mark on both their community and the agricultural landscape.

NEVADA FFA

FEBRUARY 17 - 24, 2024 Let us start out by saying thank you to everyone who has supported our chapter and members through the years all of these activities are not possible without the stellar community support we receive. Since the start of the 2023-2024 school year the Nevada FFA has attended numerous area and district FFA leadership conferences where our members participated in discussions about opportunities FFA offers, SAE project ideas, how to be a positive influence to others, and career opportunities in the Agriculture industry. Our annual Agriculture Awareness day with Nevada 4th grade students was a big success, FFA mem-

bers presented about the various sectors of agricultural industry that can be found locally in Vernon county to approximately 160 4th grade students. We took 22 members to the National FFA Convention, while at convention 4 members (Bryson Morrison, Esmeralda Franklin, Ariana Franklin, and Mariska Buehler) had the honor and privilege to represent Missouri FFA in the horse judging national contest the team finished with a silver rating. While traveling to and from convention members took industry tours at Bayer in St. Louis, Becks in Indianapolis, RSG (Reproduction Specialty Group) and Guyer Cattle Company. This year

10 Nevada FFA members competed in Area 9 Fall speech contests and 8 individuals finished in the top 3 in their categories and advanced to districts where 2 members made the finals Rhett Forkner in Missouri Pork Producers and Natalie Neil in Missouri Cattlemen’s. Rhett finished 3rd and Natalie was the South West District Winner and went on to finish 2nd in the State Contest. In January 8 members attend the Missouri Public Speaking Institute in Columbia Missouri to work on speech writing and public speaking skills. In the upcoming months we expect to field several FFA Contest teams in the areas of Meats Judging, Dairy

Cattle Judging, Agronomy, Poultry Judging, Farm Management, Livestock Judging, and Agricultural Mechanics. We also have several students preparing for Spring Speaking contests. During FFA Week we will be celebrating with the following activities; 2/19 – Chapter Fun Day 2/20 - Teacher Appreciation Breakfast 2/21 – Nevada FFA Community Appreciation Luncheon at the Fairgrounds 2/22 - Agriculture Literacy day at Benton school 2/23 – Nevada FFA Family Dinner 2/25 – Nevada FFA Sunday

EL DORADO SPRINGS FFA

FEBRUARY 17 - 24, 2024

El Dorado Springs FFA Chapter has 137 current members. Our advisors are Missy Newman and Amy Green. Members are taught life skills, academics, and how to interact with community members. Some of our main events we do are Penny Wars, Chapter Barnwarming, Mum sales, FFA CDE lock in, FFA week, and community service. During this year’s mum sales, we sold 3,500 mums. The members go around town, ask friends, and family to raise money for the Ag department. During our activities all members show their leadership, social, and communication skills with other FFA members. Here at El Dorado Springs FFA Chapter, we focus on leadership and responsibilities that come our way. The members are expected to have a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) which is a project, entrepreneurship or placement, where they are focused on gaining career-based skills and responsibilities. We focus a lot on our achievements at El Dorado Springs. This year, we have had 8 State Degrees, 10 American Degrees, 2 area officers, 2 state placing teams, 1 state placing speaker, 1 HYPE attendee, and 10 proficiency winners. We are excited to compete in Career and Leadership Development this spring. We kick our CDE and LDE’s off on March 2nd at College of the Ozarks.

EL DORADO SPRINGS FFA

FEBRUARY 17 - 24, 2024

We adopt 8 to 10 kids from our community and purchase Christmas presents for them. Our officer team gathers at the First Baptist Church to help hand out the gifts to all of the families that were adopted from our community. Our chapter hosts an event for kindergarten through fifth graders to learn about how agriculture has an impact on them. The students get hands-on experience with different facets of the agriculture industry. The students get to visit with FFA members about different species of livestock, machinery, gardening, dogs, and wildlife.

Each year the chapter rewards its top 20 most active individuals by going on a three day trip out of the state. This past year the students traveled to Memphis, Tennessee and were able to experience the Mississippi River, a rice farm, a cotton museum, and many more.

State Degrees: Kade Fast, Alyssa Irvin, Kamron Austin, Garrett Klaiber, Hannah Klaiber, Truman Ledbetter, Reese Schiereck, and Blayze McCullough

The State Fair is a fun day that starts with community service and ends with enjoying the fair. We participate in the Missouri Drive to Feed Kids, where members put together and package meals for the local communities. 4th Place at State Knowledge L to R: Wyatt Wilkinson, Bella Wooldridge, Jenna Runkle, and Lela Brown
