OUR GO TO MEN ON THE GROUND

OUR COMMITMENT TO CHANGING LIVES THROUGH SPORT!

As Net Nine Nine, a proud member of the CYNK Group, we have always believed that sport is more than just a game — it is a vehicle for hope, unity and transformation.
Over the years, in our first five years of existence, we have witnessed how the power of sport can ignite dreams in young people from previously disadvantaged communities and inspire them to reach beyond their circumstances.
Since our inception in 2020, we have invested heavily in the development of sport at grassroots level — not as an act of charity, but as a commitment to social progress.
Many of the young athletes who first participated in Net Nine Nine–supported programmes in Krugersdorp, Ga-Rankuwa, Thabong, Phuthaditjhaba, Kwa Guqa, Boitekong and other communities where we operate, are still active in their respective sporting codes today — living proof of what consistent support and belief can achieve.
We are proud of how far we’ve come, but we are not done yet.
Our next chapter will focus on introducing another groundbreaking tournament, designed to change mindsets and open more doors for South Africa’s sporting talent.
This upcoming initiative, Diski99, to be shared in more detail at a later stage, aims to show that it is not difficult to help young sports enthusiasts achieve their goals — it simply requires vision, passion and genuine commitment.
Sport has always been one of society’s greatest equalisers, and our young children deserve dedicated attention and support.
The late Nelson Mandela once said:
“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does.”
Those words continue to guide us as we strive to make meaningful contributions to communities that deserve to be seen, supported and celebrated.
As former U.S. President John F. Kennedy once remarked:
“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”
At Net Nine Nine, we see that creativity, that drive and that resilience every day in the young men and women we support.
Their determination pushes us to do more.
We remain hopeful that our continued investment in sport will not only nurture athletes but also shape disciplined, confident and socially responsible individuals who can lead their communities into a brighter future.
The success stories we’ve seen so far are only the beginning — the best is yet to come.
At Net Nine Nine, generosity is not about giving because we have; it’s about giving because we care.
And through sport, we will continue to prove that the impossible can be achieved when opportunity meets passion.

CYNK HONOURS HIGH ACHIEVERS IN WELKOM!
As part of its commitment to advancing education and fostering discipline in the classroom, CYNK recognised 25 schools across the Free State, with more than 125 learners and teachers honoured for their academic achievements during a High Achievers Awards Ceremony.
The glamorous event took place at Toronto Hall in Welkom on 11 September 2025, in collaboration with the Pule Maile Foundation.
The celebrated learners, selected by their schools over the past two terms and the previous academic year, were awarded special trophies designed to motivate and inspire them as they prepare for their final Grade 12 examinations.
Their teachers were not forgotten. They too walked away with medals draped proudly around their necks — a symbolic thank-you for their hard work in shaping South Africa’s future leaders.
The event was graced by key community leaders, including Tswelopele Local Municipality Mayor, Cllr Kenalemang Rose Phukuntsi, who delivered an encouraging message to the attentive learners.
Phukuntsi, who hails from Hoopstad, shared her journey from humble beginnings to being elected mayor — a portfolio she has carried out with distinction.

She revealed that she had excused herself from an important meeting to attend the ceremony before driving to Johannesburg for the upcoming Mayoral G20 Summit.
“I was a learner like all of you,” she told the learners. “But dedication and ambition pushed me to work hard like the rest of you. And today I am a mayor, and you too can be like me.”
True to the name of her municipality, Tswelopele, which translates to “progress,” Phukuntsi has seen progress in her own life and hopes to see the same for Welkom’s learners.
Her career before becoming mayor includes serving as an MMC in the same municipality, Speaker of the District, member of SADC, climate change champion, Ambassador for Clean City & Clean Audit, Member of Legislature, and active service in various communities.

WE EMPOWER EDUCATION THROUGH CONNECTIVITY!
She also represented the municipality in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), Public Accounts and Finance, and several other legislative roles.
Nomvula Mosiea-Tiya, Event Specialist at Net Nine Nine, said: “By recognising and honouring top academic achievers, CYNK aims to highlight how access to reliable connectivity and digital opportunities can unlock excellence, resilience and brighter futures for learners, their schools and their communities.”
Pule Maile added: “We would like to thank Net99. This is the first time something like this has ever happened in Welkom. Those who doubted Net99 are now eating humble pie. I’ve received many calls from community councillors expressing their admiration for what we’ve achieved at Toronto Hall.”
CYNK, a leading integrated holding company established through the strategic merger of influential technology and investment enterprises, continues to champion educational development as part of its broader mission to drive sustainable growth and social impact.
The holding company, comprising Net Nine Nine, Evotel, LinkLayer, Magnolia Fibre Tree and Internet for Education, has connected over 215 schools with free internet across the country — and the number keeps growing as the company
expands into more provinces. The programme also featured performances by learners, adding a celebratory spirit to a day dedicated to achievement and growth.
CYNK continues to position itself as a leader in driving digital transformation in education, ensuring that schools and learners are supported with reliable internet solutions and initiatives that build capacity for the future.
The High Achievers event underscores CYNK’s role in not only bridging the digital divide but also actively contributing to the social and educational development of communities across South Africa.
The day will remain memorable for the learners and schools who were celebrated, reinforcing CYNK’s vision of transforming lives through connectivity, education and community empowerment.
To top off the awards, CYNK and the Pule Maile Foundation honoured two special schools — Letsete Secondary School and Nanabolela Secondary School — with special trophies and educator medals in recognition of their outstanding commitment to academic excellence.

KOTA FESTIVAL SERVES
PHUTHADITJHABA WITH DELICACIES!

The most beloved street food — traditionally made from an unsliced loaf of bread cut into four parts and filled with an assortment of mouth-watering ingredients — better known as kota, sphatlho or skhambane, warms the heart of every South African who loves junk food.
Just one kota is usually enough to leave a hungry person full for the entire day.
Now imagine more than 30 vendors gathered in one space, all offering the same classic delicacy but each with their own twist — a mouthful of flavour designed to make anyone’s stomach growl and their taste buds beg for more.
On the weekend of 4 October 2025, the people of the Free State, specifically Phuthaditjhaba, came together at one stadium for a mouth-watering Kota Festival, organised by patron Morena Mosikidi. It was his third consecutive food festival, and as always, everyone left licking their lips from the joy of the day’s delicacies.
You don’t need to be a trained chef or have a culinary degree to make a perfect skota. Creativity and a love for food are what truly define the champions of this traditional township fast food — the favourite in every kasi across Mzansi.
From sizzling grills to booming speakers, the Kota Festival Weekend — much like other kota festivals across the country — was a feast for the senses: a vibrant tribute to township culture and a powerful reminder of how food brings people together.
Energetic host Nkunyana “Skuzabell” Nkunyana kept the crowd entertained from start to finish, with highlights including the fan-favourite Kota Eating Competition and exciting Net Nine Nine merchandise giveaways for lucky winners.
Now in its third year, the annual event continues to grow in size and spirit, drawing food lovers, music fans and culture seekers from every corner of South Africa.
For the uninitiated, a kota isn’t just a sandwich — it’s a township icon.
At this year’s festival in Phuthaditjhaba, more than 30 vendors reimagined the local favourite with creative, gourmet twists that pushed the boundaries of flavour and innovation. Festival-goers sampled, voted and celebrated the delicious reinvention of a true South African classic.
But the festival — co-sponsored by Net Nine Nine — offered more than just food.
The stage came alive with local DJs, dancers and live performers, blending Amapiano, Hip Hop and classic Mzansi sounds into an unforgettable township soundtrack. Shoppers explored fashion stalls, admired local art exhibits, and families enjoyed games and activities throughout the day.
Beyond the fun, the Kota Festival carried a deeper mission: to empower township entrepreneurs and give visibility to small, local vendors.
As one of the proud sponsors, Net Nine Nine shared this vision of growing the township economy. Many small businesses reported record sales, new collaborations and fresh opportunities.
Mosikidi summed it up perfectly:
“The Kota Festival isn’t just about food — it’s a movement. It’s about reclaiming our culture, supporting local talent, and celebrating what makes South Africa unique.”
As the sun set on the day, one thing was clear: the Kota Festival has become a fixture on the national calendar.
With plans already underway for expansion, the first weekend of October is officially reserved for this proudly South African celebration of flavour, culture and unity.
Whether you’re a die-hard kota fan or just someone who loves a good vibe with even better food, next year’s edition promises to be even bigger, bolder and more delicious than ever.

ZENUNAM BEAUTY AND NET99 PARTNERS TO EMPOWER LESS FORTUNATE MATRICULANTS!
Zen Unam Beauty and Net Nine Nine share the same vision — changing lives and creating opportunities for previously underserved communities.
Now, the two partnering companies are giving deserving Grade 12 learners the chance to experience the joy, glamour and confidence of their matric dance.
Zen Unam Beauty, proudly sponsored by Net Nine Nine, is celebrating the 2025 matric dance season by giving back to the community in a meaningful way.
The initiative, led by Sibonisile Mlobeli, Founder and CEO of Zen Unam Beauty, will provide ten less fortunate matric students from Bekkersdal, Kagiso and Westonaria — communities where Net Nine Nine delivers internet services — with a full matric dance makeover.
For Sibonisile, this project is deeply personal: “I never had the opportunity to attend my own matric dance because my parents couldn’t afford it. That experience has stayed with me, and today, I want to make sure another child doesn’t miss out on their special day. Makeup makes me happy and boosts confidence, and through this initiative, I want to help these learners step into their new chapter feeling beautiful, celebrated and proud,” she shared.
Matric dances are a milestone moment for South African youth, symbolising both the end of their high school journey and the beginning of new opportunities.
However, for many learners from disadvantaged
backgrounds, the costs make it impossible to participate fully in this once-in-a-lifetime event.
This collaboration reflects Net Nine Nine’s commitment to community upliftment while reinforcing its role as a company that goes beyond providing internet services.
Together, Zen Unam Beauty and Net Nine Nine aim to inspire confidence, celebrate achievement and bring joy to the youth they serve in Bekkersdal, Kagiso and Westonaria.
ABOUT ZEN UNAM BEAUTY:
Zen Unam Beauty is a brand founded by Sibonisile Mlobeli, dedicated to empowering individuals through the art of beauty. The brand specialises in professional makeup artistry and beauty experiences that enhance confidence and celebrate individuality.

IMMERSURABLE IMPACT BY CONNECTING SOUTH AFRICA!
CYNK, one of South Africa’s fastest-growing telecommunications groups, is redefining connectivity by prioritising the needs of previously disadvantaged and underserved communities. The company distinguishes itself not only as an internet provider but as a partner in Mzansi’s digital future.
In line with government’s strategic commitment to Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) ahead of the 2025 G20 Presidency Summit, set for 22–23 November, CYNK is positioning itself as a critical partner in bridging the country’s digital divide and creating meaningful opportunities for communities across South Africa.
Founded by broadband visionary Group CEO, Albert Oosthuysen, CYNK was established early in 2025 through the strategic consolidation of five influential enterprises: Net Nine Nine, Evotel, Magnolia Fibre Tree, Internet for Education and LinkLayer.
Together, these entities form a powerful ecosystem that goes beyond simply providing internet access, delivering integrated digital and economic solutions. Unlike traditional internet service providers, CYNK is purpose-built to address South Africa’s unique challenges: unequal internet access, affordability barriers and digital literacy gaps.
With more than 400 000 clients, the group has already made measurable impact by connecting over 222 schools across eight provinces with free internet, donating more than 50 computers this year alone, creating thousands of jobs and equipping SMMEs with essential digital skills and tools.
CYNK’s impact extends deep into rural and township communities, where access to digital infrastructure has historically been limited.
In Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, Wood and Raw Primary School now boasts its first-ever computer lab and unlimited internet access, thanks to Net Nine Nine’s donation of 30 computers and laptops at Dumisani Makhaye Village, City of uMhlathuze, on 25 June 2025. This milestone transformed teaching from “unplugged” coding theory to hands-on digital learning.
Similarly, TM Letlhake Secondary School in Westonaria recently received 15 laptops for its educators, enabling teachers to embrace digital resources for planning, administration and classroom innovation.
These initiatives are complemented by additional social investment programmes, including the distribution of hundreds of school shoes to learners in need — the most recent being at Spectrum Primary School in Ennerdale Extension 5, Johannesburg.

“Connectivity changes everything, but access must be inclusive,” said CYNK’s Head of Marketing, Richard Genlloud. “By equipping teachers and learners, we are investing in the future of education in South Africa.”
Beyond education, CYNK is actively strengthening township and rural economies. South Africa faces a national unemployment crisis, with rates above 36% overall and youth unemployment at 44%, as reported by Statistics South Africa in July 2025.
CYNK has taken bold steps to empower small businesses and entrepreneurs through its Fibre Experience Centres, with more than 160 established nationwide. These hubs provide digital infrastructure and customer access that help small enterprises grow, attract new clients and build resilience.
“Our aim is to help businesses succeed and contribute to stronger local economies,” Genlloud explained.
For Oosthuysen, CYNK’s mission is both personal and national: “We need to bridge the digital divide and then the economic gap. The freedom of access to opportunity is the biggest challenge facing South Africa on a daily basis. We believe the best way to access opportunity is through the internet.”
By aligning with South Africa’s national priorities and the global G20 agenda on digital transformation,
CYNK is not just connecting homes and businesses — it is laying the foundation for inclusive growth, social development and economic opportunity.
The Man Behind the Vision
Oosthuysen, a passionate and forward-thinking South African executive, grew up in Port Elizabeth. He developed a deep love for South Africa in his early years but quickly realised there was still much work to be done before the country could achieve its dream of an equitable society. You can connect with CYNK Group at www.cynk.co.za, www.netninenine. co.za, www.evotel.co.za, www.linklayer.co.za and on all major social media platforms.

NET NINE NINE DRIVING YOUTH EMPOWERMENT AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT!
Deeper in the rural village of Hebron, northwest of Pretoria, lies a community of Bakwena ba Mogopa — a tribe that has been ravaged by abject poverty since the early 1990s. Hopelessness has long been the order of the day, with the youth dependent on mini retail jobs and the elderly relying solely on government grants.
Their homes are typical of underdeveloped informal residential areas, built the old way using clay and mountain rocks. Yet the tribe, under the chieftaincy of Loth Fancy Masilo, has lived in hope that their lives would one day change.

Fast-forward to the new millennium and, like manna from heaven, Net Nine Nine has brought a development the people of Hebron never dreamed possible — fibre internet in the heart of the village.
This is a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Youth from Bakwena ba Mogopa will, from next month, proudly tell their peers about their fibre optic connection, bringing fast and unlimited internet to their homes at a cost of R379 per month. This is delivered through thin, flexible strands of plastic that transmit light from a remote source to a desired location — creating a stable, high-speed internet connection.
Today, Hebron has only four notable landmarks: Hebron Mall next to Erasmus (built two years ago), the underdeveloped area of Molewa, Molewa Butchery and Mark’s Pub, as well as the No-Smoking Apostolic Church towards the west. These complete the limited list of points of interest in the village.
Aside from the usual fixtures — the tribal authority and a police station — Hebron can now proudly add Net Nine Nine to its list. The closed-access fibre network operator is lighting up the village located near the border of Gauteng and the North West Province.
Awkwardly situated, the village is separated by a main road between the North West and Gauteng. This is the latest in Net Nine Nine’s ongoing achievements in changing the lives of ordinary people.

Masilo, together with the community’s political leaders and councillors — John Makhubela, Lucas Motaung and Ntebong — expressed their relief that thousands of unemployed young people will now have opportunities. Net Nine Nine has already offered over 3 000 jobs to youth who had lost hope.
“Finally, this day has arrived, and our village will now compete with the rest of those in developed areas across South Africa,” said Masilo. “I am very excited about the development that Net Nine Nine has brought to us. Learners, educators, job seekers, sport lovers, business people, SMMEs — everyone will benefit from this project. I have been inundated with calls from people interested in this project. It’s a reality. This is not fake or a scam. People can see the infrastructure being laid.”
Nicholas Thipe, CYNK Group Chief of Staff, said Net Nine Nine prides itself on being one of the biggest youth employers and a springboard for business entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, Net Nine Nine has positioned itself as a catalyst for change in response to the challenges facing South Africa: escalating unemployment and limited access to skills training, particularly among the youth.
Across all nine provinces, Net Nine Nine has made significant contributions — especially in eight of them — by offering opportunities that extend beyond traditional employment in the telecommunications sector.
Over the years, Net Nine Nine has created decent jobs for young people from underdeveloped communities, opening doors to career paths that were once out of reach.
By focusing on inclusivity and empowerment, the company has not only provided employment but also instilled dignity and hope among vulnerable youth.
This commitment reflects the company’s belief that meaningful change begins with empowering individuals who have the potential to transform their own lives and communities.
In addition to employment creation, the closed-access internet service provider has also championed skills development initiatives that directly support small businesses.
The company recognises that small and medium enterprises are the backbone of the economy, and by equipping them with modern tools, training and knowledge, it ensures these enterprises can compete effectively and grow sustainably.
Through workshops, mentorship and resourcesharing, Net Nine Nine has made skills transfer a cornerstone of its contribution to economic development.
The aim of CYNK Group CEO Albert Oosthuysen is to build a stronger South Africa by creating opportunities where they are most needed.
“When young people are given decent jobs and small businesses are provided with skills,” Thipe said, “we’re not just addressing unemployment — we’re laying the foundation for long-term economic resilience.”
Net Nine Nine’s dual focus on youth empowerment and small business development has positioned it as a responsible corporate player committed to national progress.
By investing in people and enterprises, the company is not only fostering growth but also shaping a future where South Africans can thrive through opportunity, innovation and self-reliance.

Had an issue with out internet Sunday evening, called support and the guy called Mandla - hope I got the name right..kept me updated through out while trying to resolve the issue. I applaud him for keeping me updated and assuring me that the issue is being looked at even though the issue was resolved the last time we spoke. I decided to try another route and came across Thando. Thando tried one thing on his side and walla my internet but up and running. Kudo to this gentleman. He even assisted me after the normal working hours. I was really disappointed at first that we have been struggled the whole of yesterday and today without any luck but that was overshadowed by the effort and the service I got from the two gentlemen I have interacted with. Thanks Thando and Mandla once again. Great services. Keep up the good job
