SATISFIED CLIENTS: YOU SPEAK

A FORCE FOR CHANGE CYNK AT YOUR SERVICE!

All our entities – Net Nine Nine, Evotel, Magnolia Tree Fibre, and Linklayer – are syncing well, and this is fantastic news that benefits all our clients.

In essence, we are revolutionising the speed of digital migration and enhancing how previously disadvantaged communities benefit from the broad shift into the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

The advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been fascinating, but many are concerned that the skills found in rural areas and densely populated townships may become diluted by this brand-new technology, denying the opportunities for community members to create graphics, write content, business plans, or formalise strategies, and endless other work opportunities that AI can complete with seemingly perfect accuracy.

While these fears are valid and quite relevant to a country such as ours facing massive unemployment issues, we all look to our government for answers surrounding the regulations and guidelines on the use of AI, without harming the people whose skills are within the sights of AI coders.

While our government is under increasing pressure to deliver on its promise of “better lives for all,” South Africans struggle to balance the benefits to entrepreneurship and efficiency that the use of AI offers with the potential loss in employment

opportunities for skilled work in SA. All eyes eagerly await the government’s views on AI in G20 Summit in November 2025.

As part of a leading South African telecommunications company, I believe is now within our reach to help the government realise every South African’s digital migration dream.

As the CYNK entities to pull together and leverage all their combined skills, resources, and assets it’s well within our grasp to ensure that by the end of 2026, more than a million people have access to an affordable internet connection on our network.

For CYNK to reach this towering goal, we must first strengthen its foundation by building trust within our communities and delivering on our promises to our clients, who are the bedrock of any successful digital company.

We are expanding our reach across the country into all provinces, and already have presence with one or of our entities in all but one province (Western Cape) next in line is Thohoyandou, with Musina nearly in sight. We are tapping into markets that no one ever thought possible, and all for this clear purpose: to invest in our people and help to align them with the fast-changing world.

CYNK will always be a crucial role player in South Africa’s digital growth – modernising the ICT sphere and ensuring that we remain the backbone of the country’s digital migration.

My simple request to communities: Allow our technicians and contractors access to your premises and help us by hosting the infrastructure that can bring opportunity to your community. Allow our sales teams to walk your streets and sell our services; they will be dressed in company colours, wearing name tags, and can provide proof of identity when requested.

As South African’s we are always cautious, but allow us to prove to you that we are who we say we are, and allow us to bring in the opportunities and wealth that so many towns and townships in South Africa are already enjoying, to your town.

A CROWN OF COURAGE!

NET99 GAVE HOPE TO MISS TM LETLHAKE

At TM Letlhake Secondary School in Westonaria, the story of one learner has captured the hearts of her peers, teachers, and the wider community.

Recently crowned Miss TM Letlhake, 14-year-old Qhama Mxhonywa is celebrated not only for her beauty and grace, but for her determination to rise above challenges that would have broken many.

Raised by her blind mother, Bongiswa Mxhonywa, in Borwa Extension 3, Simunye, Qhama has embraced responsibility and resilience as daily companions.

When Net Nine Nine, South Africa’s fastestgrowing fibre network company, stepped in to donate a full school uniform to her, it was more than an act of kindness. It was recognition of her strength and potential.

For Qhama, the Miss TM Letlhake crown is not merely a title — it is a platform. She has dedicated herself to advocating for Teens Against Pregnancy, using her voice to inspire classmates to remain focused on their studies and avoid early parenthood.

Her message is deeply personal: “Despite being raised by a blind mother, I am not taking advantage of the situation. I want to prove that no matter where you come from or what challenges you face, you can achieve greatness.”

Her words echoed across the school hall during the handover ceremony, leaving many in attendance visibly moved — including Principal Vuyokazi Langeni.

For her peers, Qhama has become more than just Miss TM Letlhake. She is a living example of discipline, dignity, and hope — and, as her mother described, a true “pillar of the family.”

Growing up in a household led by a blind parent, she learned early on that strength is not measured by what you lack, but by what you give. As one of four siblings, Qhama has become her family’s anchor, balancing her studies with household responsibilities.

Her mother proudly declared:

“My daughter is a go-getter. She has been the pillar of this family of four children. Even though I cannot see her with my eyes, I feel her achievements with my heart. She is proof that

A BEAUTY WITH PURPOSE!

NET99 GAVE HOPE TO MISS TM LETLHAKE

The principal echoed the sentiment, crediting Qhama’s advocacy with reinforcing a culture of discipline at the school:

“Since I became principal, I have never had a pregnant learner. Maybe, just maybe, it is because of programmes like the one Miss TM Letlhake is driving. As a school, we are proud of her and the learner representative council who work alongside her.”

For many, a school uniform is an ordinary necessity. For Qhama, receiving a new one from Net Nine Nine carried deeper meaning. It was a reminder that she is seen, valued, and supported. It gave her the confidence to walk into class with dignity, without worrying about being different from her peers.

“I am grateful to Net Nine Nine for buying this

uniform for me. It may look small to others, but to me and my family, it is a big gift. It gives me pride to wear it and strength to keep going,” she said, smiling through tears of gratitude.

This gesture is part of Net Nine Nine’s growing relationship with TM Letlhake. Just last month, the company donated 15 laptops to teachers and provided the school with free high-speed fibre internet, ensuring learners and educators are not left behind in a digital age.

The uniform handover was more than a simple donation. It became a celebration of resilience, love, and the power of community. By extending generosity to a single learner, Net Nine Nine demonstrated that its commitment goes beyond infrastructure and devices.

It is about changing lives, one story at a time.

NET99 CREATES A RIPPLE OF EMPOWERMENT BEYOND BUSINESS!

Net Nine Nine has sparked new life for entrepreneur Oscar Tinashe Ziwenga.

For years, Ziwenga earned his living as a welder — long hours, sparks flying, steel bending under his hands. Welding put food on the table, but it never fully matched his true ambition: interior design.

He had long sketched concepts of shop interiors in pencil, imagining how spaces could look and feel. Everything changed when Net Nine Nine, the fastgrowing fibre network company, gave him a lifechanging opportunity: the chance to design and revamp the interiors of its new stores across all nine provinces of South Africa.

“It was a turning point,” Ziwenga recalls.

“I was used to welding frames, but Net Nine Nine trusted me with something bigger — shaping how their brand is experienced in every store. That trust changed how I saw myself and my future.”

The partnership didn’t just transform Ziwenga’s career — it built a business.

Today, he employs over 15 workers, many of them young people from townships, who bring Net Nine Nine’s vision to life with modern, stylish store interiors. Wherever he is called to revamp a branch, Ziwenga also employs locals alongside his experienced contractors, ensuring that opportunity extends into the community.

Their craftsmanship is evident in every detail — from seating areas designed for customer comfort, to shelving, finishes, and window displays that reflect professionalism and innovation.

One of their latest projects was the Net Nine Nine store in Ga-Rankuwa, which recently relocated from Dr Soundy Centre in Zone 16 to Mega Meat in Zone 15.

For Ziwenga, that site is more than just another project — it’s a reminder of how far he has come.

“When I walk into the Kagiso, Botshabelo, Delmas, Boitekong and Kwa-Guqa stores, and see what my team has built, I feel proud. I know this is only possible because Net Nine Nine opened the door for me,” he says.

Net Nine Nine’s decision to empower entrepreneurs like Ziwenga has created ripples beyond business. By providing opportunities, the company helps individuals unlock potential, transform teams, and inspire communities.

Ziwenga’s company not only provides jobs, but also encourages others to believe in new possibilities. “Before, I only saw myself as a welder,” he admits. “Now, I see myself as a designer, a business owner, and a mentor. That shift is because Net Nine Nine believed in me.”

Looking ahead, Ziwenga envisions expanding his interior design firm and creating training opportunities for young South Africans.

His story shows how the right opportunity, paired with determination, can turn ordinary skills into extraordinary success.

For Ziwenga, entrepreneurship is no longer just about survival.

Thanks to Net Nine Nine, it has become about vision, growth, and leaving a legacy.

A POWER BEYOND CONNECTIVITY AND EDUCATION!

In a country where thousands of schools still function without internet access, chalkboards and dog-eared textbooks remain the primary tools of learning.

For many South African learners, particularly in rural and township areas, the digital world that drives the global economy feels like a distant luxury. Yet, on a bright Thursday morning in Westonaria, hope flickered at TM Letlhake Senior Secondary School when fibre network operator Net Nine Nine arrived with a gift set to reshape the teaching and learning experience.

On 29 August 2025, the company donated 15 brandnew laptops to the school’s educators — a move following its earlier provision of free 1Gbps highspeed internet to the school.

For TM Letlhake’s staff, the laptops are more than just machines — they are passports into a new world of possibility.

“Access to the internet is a powerful enabler, but it must go hand in hand with access to devices,” said Nicholas Thipe, Net Nine Nine Group Chief of Staff. “By equipping teachers with the right tools, we are not only supporting their professional growth but also directly investing in the success of learners.”

For teachers, the donation goes beyond convenience — it is transformation. Lesson preparation now includes digital research, plans can be typed and shared seamlessly, and administrative tasks managed without piles of paperwork.

Importantly, educators can begin to integrate digital resources into everyday teaching, from interactive science simulations to virtual maps in geography. The laptops also help level the playing field.

In too many South African schools, even those fortunate enough to have connectivity, teachers lack access to functional devices. A single computer shared among staff, or an outdated principal’s desktop, is often the norm.

Now, TM Letlhake’s educators step into a future where technology is not an obstacle but a tool. The reality, however, is that TM Letlhake is one of the lucky few.

According to Department of Basic Education figures, more than half of South Africa’s public schools remain offline, and tens of thousands of learners continue their schooling without ever touching a computer.

In deep rural areas, the digital divide is glaring: teachers rely on hand-drawn diagrams and photocopied worksheets while the rest of the world moves into artificial intelligence, coding, and robotics. This contrast underscores the urgency of interventions like Net Nine Nine’s.

The company’s efforts are more than corporate social responsibility — they are lifelines for schools caught in the widening gap between the connected and the disconnected.

TM Letlhake is not the first school to benefit. Earlier in 2025, Net Nine Nine donated computers to Wood and Raw Primary School in Empangeni, KwaZuluNatal.

These projects form part of the company’s broader mission to “bridge the digital divide in education”, ensuring technology reaches not only affluent suburbs but also rural and township communities where it is most needed.

By providing both devices and connectivity, Net Nine Nine sets itself apart from many interventions that stop halfway. Internet without devices is meaningless; devices without internet are underutilised.

The company’s holistic approach ensures that schools like TM Letlhake can build sustainable digital ecosystems.

For TM Letlhake’s staff, the donation sparked relief and excitement. Teachers spoke of lighter workloads, improved lesson preparation, and the chance to adopt more interactive teaching methods. The school’s administration also anticipates efficiency gains in record-keeping and communication.

Principal Vuyokazi Langeni, joined by HODs, stood proudly in the laboratory hall as Net Nine Nine’s Head of Marketing, Richard Genlloud, and Operations Manager, Thapelo Mopaila, handed over the laptops to loud cheers and ululations.

“This is important for us as a school. This donation is not just for TM Letlhake, but about building a nation. It will empower teachers and excite them about providing improved teaching,” said Langeni.

“We believe access to the internet must go hand in hand with access to devices. By supporting teachers, we’re investing directly in learners’ success,” added Genlloud.

Langeni concluded that the gift is not only about today’s educators, but also about tomorrow’s learners:

“When we as teachers are empowered, we are better equipped to give learners the quality education they deserve.”

Net Nine Nine’s interventions reflect a vision that goes beyond laying fibre cables. The company positions itself as a partner in education and community upliftment, ensuring connectivity translates into opportunity.

For learners at TM Letlhake, dreams of becoming engineers, scientists, or entrepreneurs feel a little closer.

Yet the broader picture remains sobering. Until every South African school has both internet access and digital tools, inequality in education will persist.

Companies like Net Nine Nine show that with determination and investment, change is possible — school by school, community by community. As the laptops hum to life at TM Letlhake, they symbolise more than hardware. They represent hope: a reminder that the classrooms of today must prepare learners for the world of tomorrow. And in South Africa’s long road to digital inclusion, this is a step worth celebrating.

NET99 CONNECTED WITH MINTIRHO’S ACADEMIC MISSION!

PARTNERING WITH MINTIRHO NETBALL ACADEMY TO CHAMPION ACADEMIC AND SPORTING EXCELLENCE

It was a heroic day for everyone.

The organisers of the Reach For Your Dreams Netball Championships – Mintirho Netball Academy – are basking in the glory of having hosted a magnificent annual tournament at Temba Stadium, Hammanskraal, earlier in September 2025.

The sponsors, fibre network operator Net Nine Nine (Net99), share in the excitement of an event that not only showcased talent but also exposed promising players to opportunities that could one day see them selected at national level.

As South Africa’s trusted fibre network operator, Net Nine Nine proudly partnered with Mintirho Netball Academy to bring the championship to life. The prestigious annual event highlighted the depth of talent in local schools and reinforced the power of sport to inspire, educate, and open pathways to success.

Timed just after Women’s Month, the championships continued the celebration of the spirit of Imbokodo. More than a competition, it was grassroots development in action – uniting schools from diverse communities to compete, learn, and grow.

As part of its Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives, Net99 continues to invest in programmes that uplift communities, foster youth development, and create platforms for excellence.

In Hammanskraal alone, Net Nine Nine has already transformed lives by:

•Providing schools with free 1Gbps fibre connections.

•Creating employment opportunities for local youth.

•Installing JoJo tanks to support water access.

•Connecting households as part of South Africa’s digital migration.

“We are proud to support initiatives like Mintirho’s championships because they create pathways for future international stars who may one day represent South Africa as Proteas players, umpires, or coaches of global repute,” said Richard Genlloud, Head of Marketing at Net Nine Nine.

“This aligns with our corporate motto, Be a Hero, which reflects our commitment to uplifting communities and shaping futures.”

Diana Hlongwane, founder of Mintirho Netball Academy, emphasised the tournament’s broader purpose:

“Through this initiative, schools come together not only to compete, but also to learn, to inspire one another, and to celebrate resilience and dreams in motion. A huge thank you to our selection panel led by North West Netball Head Coach Vivian Foko, together with some of her players and invited guests.”

She congratulated all participating teams and extended heartfelt gratitude to Net Nine Nine for their partnership.

I applaud him for keeping me updated and assuring me that the issue is being looked at even though the issue was resolved the last time we spoke. I decided to try another route and came across Thando. Thando tried one thing on his side and walla my internet but up and running. Kudo to this gentleman. He even assisted me after the normal working hours. I was really disappointed at first that we have been struggled the whole of yesterday and today without any luck but that was overshadowed by the effort and the service I got from the two gentlemen I have interacted with.
