That is not going to happen. If they don’t drop the Pro Rata policies in the next 2 months it is not going to be possible to invite and grant enough visas to meet the skilled program targets. It may be that DIBP don’t care anymore (which would be inconsistent with the past 20 years of trying to come in exactly on their target). Maybe DIBP have a new skilled points test model from July 2017 and they think visas granted under that model are more valuable to the Australian economy. It may be a complete disconnect between DIBP and the Department of Education (who administer the skill select invitations), or maybe DIBP don’t just get the whole in. ime management is an important step in the ladder of success. If you can’t manage time you are nowhere. Successes in life solely depends upon how you manage time. Time keeps on moving and what goes by never comes back. Time has been divided as seconds, minutes and hours so that everybody is able to utilize it properly. Even a second when it passes by never comes back. Most of the successful organisations around the world have reached the heights by focusing on time. Poor time management is a failure. In twenty first century, time management is compared with productivity which gives birth to task management. Productivity is the measure of how much work is completed within a given amount of time. When more work is done within a specified period of time you are more productive. High productivity is directly proportional with time management skills. Overall productivity should be more tomorrow than what it is today. Time Schedule First, we need to access how are we spending our time. Time log or time journal can be useful tool which helps us identify what we are doing in an interval of every 30 minutes. Time
log helps to identify tasks which will increase productivity like: Distractions We shall identify which is the most productive time of the day. What activities take most of our time whether it is work, recreation, family or friends. How much time do we spend in meetings? and whether we are spending time on what is most important to us. Prioritising From the time log we will be able to identify different types of tasks which we get involved in daily basis. Among these tasks, we would categorise: •

Whilst on future we should focus on important so that there won’t be anything urgent. Urgent priorities won’t be nil but will definitely be lessened. Preparation Schedule preparation must be done ahead of time so that we would utilize the time efficiently.

It should be prepared ahead i.e. the day before or early in the morning to better manage the time available. Scheduling Time available should be scheduled properly and recorded so that we know what are we doing and when we are doing that. Most productive time of the day should be kept aside to do the most important tasks. Best planning tool should be used. It is a choice whether to stick on paper planner or electronic planners like Evernote, Omni focus etc. Whatever happens we should be able to update it in the planner. Writing notes to transfer to the planner later on increases the risk of missed events, meeting and leads to disorganization. •
We should make sure the planner is up to date and synced regularly.

Develop a habit to follow planner every day.

List priorities as urgent, important and less important in the planner.

Have a backup planner if you completely rely on the electronic planner.
Organisation Work environment should be decluttered and everything should be in place. Develop a habit to throw away if not needed. An organisational system should always focus to increase productivity. Distractions Distractions are basically categorised into two: one is electronic and another is distraction that comes from people in our lives. Time log would have all the distractions listed. Electronic distractions come from the apps which are not at all necessary to do or to complete the work. In heavy work mode, email notifications should be turned off and phone should be in the silent mode. Whenever possible keep yourself away from people who will be distractions. General Skilled Migration:
A journey of an overseas student in Australia

ew years ago, I was traveling on a train after attending a Nepalese program with a gentleman. We were talking about life in Australia and I said “it has become a home away from home for us…” The gentleman corrected me – “No, it is your home now”. That brought the message home. Yes, it has become our home, a country of birth for our children and a country where they will live proudly and contribute to this country, its society and live by the high moral standards we say the Australian way of life. So, my dear students whoever are reading this…have you decided whether you want to make Australia your home? Years of hard work, tons of assignments, passed examinations…if you now want to progress to a permanent resident stage, GSM program is what can lead you there. I like to refer to General Skilled Migration (GSM) program as a culmination to a journey of an overseas student in Australia. It is for professionals and other skilled migrants who are not sponsored by an employer and who have skills in particular occupations required in Australia. It is the largest single component of the Australian Government’s migration program. Under this program, there are many visa options for skilled workers who want to live in Australia including options for skilled people applying as an independent migrant as well as those sponsored by a relative, or nominated by a state of Territory Government, or graduates who want to remain longer in Australia in the hope of acquiring eligibility for permanent residence.
From 1 July 2012, the permanent category visas under GSM scheme are: Category

Subclass 189: Skilled – Independent A Permanent visa which is available to all independent applicants whether living inside or outside Australia at the time of application. This visa falls within visa class Skilled-Independent (Permanent) (Class SI). A visa holder can live and work permanently anywhere in Australia. Applicants for the 189 visa will have been assessed against the Schedule 6D points test before being invited to apply. To be eligible for this visa, primary applicants must:
i. Be invited by the Department of Immigration to apply for the visa ii. Have a score at the pass mark of 60 or higher
iii. Be under 50 years of age at the time of invitation iv. Hold a positive skills assessment for a nominated skilled occupation on the SOL v. Meet the minimum English threshold

This visa falls within visa class Skilled- Nominated (Permanent). A visa holder can live and work permanently anywhere in Australia. Applicants for the 190 visa will have been assessed against the Schedule 6D points test and have been nominated by a state or Territory government before being invited to apply. To be eligible for this visa, primary applicants must:
i. Be invited by the Department of Immigration to apply for the visa
ii. Have a score at the pass mark of 60 or higher iii. Be under 50 years of age at the time of invitation
iv. Hold a positive skills assessment for a nominated skilled occupation on the SOL v. Meet the minimum English threshold
vi. Satisfy health, character and any other Schedule 3, 4 and/or 5 requirements. Subclass 887: Skilled – Regional This is an onshore permanent visa which falls within visa class Skilled (Residence) (Class VB). It allows certain provisional visa holders to apply for permanent residence. Applicants must:
i. Hold an eligible visa
ii. Live in a specified regional area for at least 2 years before lodgment iii. Work Full –time in a specified regional area for at least 12 months. There is no restriction on the type of work you may undertake, you could work for an employer or yourself. iv. Satisfy health, character and any other Schedule 3, 4 and 5 requirements.
All applicants must be onshore at time of lodgment and grant. Major change in GSM is the move from a supply-based model to a demand-based model – The Department of Immigration selects applicants based on various criteria under the new SkillSelect paradigm. SkillSelect – what you need to know? o It is an online service that enables skilled workers interested in migrating to Australia to record their details to be considered for a skilled visa through an Expression of Interest (EOI). Intending migrants can be found and nominated for skilled visas by Australian employers or state and territory

o You will be asked to provide a range of information in your EOI depending on the visa(s) you want to be considered for, such as: basic personal information; nominated occupation; work experience, study and education; level of English skills; details of Skills Assessment related to your nominated occupation; Business and investment experience etc.
o It has now become the exclusive mechanism for identifying independent, family sponsored and state sponsored skilled migrants for Australia. Any potential applicant for a subclass 489, 189 or 190 visa, including overseas students who have studied in Australia, must first lodge an EOI
o Points Test – for the points based skilled migration and business innovation and investment visa programs, the applicant is ranked according to the appropriate points test. They may submit an EOI even if they do not meet the pass mark; however, they will not be invited to apply for a visa.
o Instead of involving a single pass mark, eligibility for the new subclass 489, 189 and 190 visas depend on having a mark high enough to receive an invitation to lodge an application, effectively all prospective applicants must lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) and then compete with each other for the number of visas to be released at a particular time in a particular category of occupation and visa
o Meeting the points test pass mark does not guarantee you an invitation to apply for a visa.
o It is a database of stockpiled expressions of interest – only those EOIs state sponsored or points tested high enough to qualify for an invitation from DIBP may now proceed to lodging an application
o Where a married or de facto (same or opposite sex) couple are applying for this visa together and where both parties would meet the relevant eligibility criteria as primary applicant, it is wise to consider lodging an EOI for each individual as DIBP processing priorities and occupational choices may have unpredictable advantages.
o There are now only two lists of occupations, the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) for all new applications which are not state sponsored and the Consolidated Skilled Occupation List (CSOL, for applicants who are state sponsored or sponsored).
o If you are submitting an EOI for a visa that requires you to list a nominated occupation you should establish if your occupation is a skill that Australia needs.
o It involves two stages – EOI and then an invitation. It is only possible to apply for a relevant visa after receiving an invitation.
o You must provide details of a skills assessment relating to your nominated occupation in your EOI. The skills assessment must not expire prior to the issue of the invitation or the subsequent visa application may be refused.

o An EOI is not a visa application, it is an indication that you would like to be
o If you’re invited to apply for a visa, the information you submit in the EOI will be used as part of the application. If the applicant provides misleading or false information on the EOI, the application may be refused. If your visa is refused on this basis you may be subject to a three-year ban which may prevent grant of a further visa.
o While you don’t need to submit documents supporting your claims when the EOI is submitted, a range of information needs to be prepared. For example, for an independent skilled visa you must have: 1. Completed a skills assessment in the 3 years prior to visa application and 2. Taken an English-language test to prove you meet the English language requirement in the 3 years prior to the invitation and 3. Completed a relevant professional year if necessary prior to invitation. o The applicants must have documents supporting the claims they make in their EOI ready. An invitation to make a visa application may be issued shortly after they submit their EOI and they will only have 60 days to lodge a complete visa application. NC League, one most revered and inspiring sport event in our community, has been running annually for last eighteen years. It is believed that it has attained a status of a first division league with the professional potential of its own kind. It is our football mad community’s unofficial premier football division and arguably the best tradition of league. The10 tested and proven Sydney-based competent teams are competing in the 2016–17 season with all of them playing each other in a single round-robin tournament. Every Sunday three matches are held in the playground of 4 Central Ave., Chipping Norton. After the five months long breathtakingly pleasant and significant journey, the grand finale and closing ceremony are scheduled to take place on 17 April 2017. The oldest football tournament in our community is also the longest running football league in Nepalese community outside Nepal. Having completed the six weeks’ matches, the fourth round of “18th Annual Galaxy GNC Football League 2016-17” started from 27 November 2016, is underway. After the phenomenal contest of six weeks, the first runner-up of the last edition of GNC league, leading football club of our community, Machhapucchre Football Club (MFC) is at the top of the league table with 10 points after playing four matches. The current league leader is followed by one hot contender of the title, The Rising Gurkhas FC, the only team winning all the matches it played so far in the ongoing edition. It is standing second in the score table with 9 points from three matches. Defending champion Saint George Nepalese Club (SGNC) holds the third position with 6 points with three matches. Thanks to the goal difference which has lent it edge over the fourth position holder in the league standing, the defending champion “GNC Football Shield 2016” Granville Rhino Football Club, (GRFC) which has also earned 6 points after the four matches it played so far. All the ten teams with competitive edges are involved in the chase for the covetous championship putting their best efforts. More often than not there is a change of wheels of fortune in the league until it comes to an end. In the first match of week 4, played on 8 January, MFC (Binam Hona 4, Bimal Thapa 1) registered one more win with wide margin over WUFC 5-0. In the second match GRFC (Ramesh Basnet 2, Shishir Thapa 1) defeated HYC (Aayam Shrestha 1) 3-1. In the third match, TRGFC (Paras Thapa 3, Pranish Ranjit 1, Amrish Kharel 1) beat FFC 5-0.
In the first match of week five, played on 15 January, TRGFC (Avas Thapa 1) defeated SGFFC 1-0. In the second match RSDSFC (Ashish Shrestha 1, Bipul 1 ) stunned the defending league champion SGNC (Sushant Kunwar 1) 2-1. In the third match, WUFC (Mamit Pradhan 1, Kunga Sherpa 1) trounced TRCC 2-0. In the first match of week six, played on 22 January, MFC (Binam Hona 2, Bimal Thapa 2) outscored GRFC(Ramesh Basnet 2) 4-2. In the second match SGFFC (Dipesh Limbu 2) beat FFC (Harshan Magar 1) 2-1. In the third match, HYC (Bicky Manandhar 1, Rajesh Shrestha 1) defeated TRCC (Ajay Lama 1) 2-1. The seventh week of this season is underway with as usual three appealing matches marked by sure-shot spellbinding pieces of footballing skills and delightful moments. With every passing week, much acknowledged and respected soccer tournament league in our community is unfolding more and more exciting exhibitions. It has seen some extremely captivating, positively tense and impressively exciting contests of superlative promises. The thrill mounts up living up to the expectation of the quality audiences. The fair and competitive matches are drawing more and more footballer lovers to the match venues where they collectively enjoy the eye-catching and striking magic of football along with the typical Nepalese cuisine. According to the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) more than 240 million people around the world play soccer regularly. The number 1 sport in 93 countries has caught the imagination of our community too. This is one most competed, played, talked about and written group sport in our community. Football league in any country or community is a national pride and cultural asset. The keystone for other tournaments has been a pinnacle of paramount importance. It offers appropriate biggest stage and highest profile to the participating teams who have tested and proven standard. On the whole, it has uncovered the story of upsets and shocks too along with fascinating soccer affairs. Our team managers have been consistently displaying the great sporting spirit making their players mentally prepared for competing well rather than being more conscious of the score line. The kick-off of “Routine Pest Control 5th Veterans Football League” competition is underway from 5th of February on the same ground. Every Sunday there would be two matches. Six highly competitive veterans’ (35 plus) teams from Sydney (Defending champion HYC, MFC, SGNC, SGFFC, Parra Park FC and Lali Gurans FC) are participating in the league. HYC and SGNC are playing in the inaugural match at 10 am. Since last year it has been played in round robin format. The veterans have been performing with appealing grace and distinction. GNC is sincerely devoted to continue to consistently deliver social excellence through sports mainly football, the universally acknowledged as mother of all games. NRNA, Australia sport coordinator and renowned veteran footballer Nanda Gurung shared, “We launched the pioneering sport day featuring the popular team games to promote the friendship and mutual support within our community in Australia with the cooperation of all the respected stakeholders of our society and in the hope that all community members of the society feel the common ownership in the NRNA, Australia Mission. We will be organizing other games too in 2017 improving our debut attempt.” NRNA, Australia Vice-President and NSW Coordinator Dinesh Pokharel remarked, “To maximize the participation of mainly the NRNA, Australia youths in the mainstream of the highest community platform NRNA, Australia, and celebrate their natural bond with NRNA, Australia, from this year the sports day was started. The first finisher in Veteran’s category Parra Park Football Club will be awarded with the winner’s trophy, medals and cash prize $ 700 and the second finisher Himalayan Laligurans Football Club will be honoured with the runner up’s trophy, medals and cash prize $ 500 in the NRNA, along with the individual trophies for outstanding players in a gala dinner to be held in later February. This was 20-team tournament for Mains or Free Age and 6-team tournament for Veterans or 35 plus. The venue for football tournament was Macquarie Park. The 20 highly competent and consummate teams participated in the one day football gala in the category of Mains or Free Age. Parra Park FC which played like a unit won the “1st ABK Lawyer’s NRNA, Australia Veteran’s (35 plus) Trophy” edging equally competent and one hot contender for the title Himalayan Laligurans Football Club which had performed very promisingly on its route to the final 2-1 on penalties as the title match ended in a scoreless draw in the regular time. The extremely free-flowing decider in veteran’s category played between Parra Park Football Club (Parra Park FC) and Himalayan Laligurans Football Club (HLFC) started with the fiery shots from both the in-form teams at each other’s goal for the first strike. The match saw huge roar of approval earned through stunning game plan and well executed strikes at the goal almost alternately by Parra FC front line strikers Basanta Acharya, Atin Baral and HLFC striker Sanjeep Thapa and company. The Parra FC goal enthusiasts led by the very reliable stopper captain Biswas Bhattarai and powered by the attacking defence Satish Poudel and commanded by the very inspired HLFC play makers captain Anil Thapa Magar and effective midfielder Dal Gurung launched several assaults at the opponent's goal. Parra Park FC put in rewarding efforts for the lead. But due to the critical error close to the penalty box and
striking zones both teams failed to break the deadlock. Parra Park impact-striker Atin Baral, who had scored one crucial goal for the team on the way to final, and Basanta Acharya failed to convert the promising through passes delivered efficiently by the teammates playmaker midfielder Dipak Thapa, creative holding midfielder Ashok Oli and attacking midfielder Surendra Pandey. They rallied round vigorously for the opening goal but the solid defence block of HLFC and the confident and experienced custodian Rajiv Pradhan, who did not concede even a goal in the tournament, denied them. The magnificent midfielder trio made Basanta Acharya and Sunil Shakya splendid assists but the strikers could not fire home as they were strongly disturbed by the solid HLFC defence. In the first half, Parra FC goalie Santosh made some admirable saves including a close range header from well-known HLFC striker Sanjeep Thapa. He saved some wonderful shots and kept Parra FC alive in the second half too. HLFC skipper Anil Thapa’s signature curling freekick flying over the Parra FC wall was foiled by Parra FC goal keeper who punched diving on the side with excellent timing. SGNC impact midfielder Dal Gurnug created promising opportunities for the fellow strikers and his some impressive crosses proved to be goal scoring opportunities for the team. Both teams reinforced decent sense of sportsmanship. Both team played their heart out. Both teams playing offensively missed some scoring chances, which should have been easily converted. The in-firm attacking defender Sanjiv Rauniyar and wing defenders Anod Parajuli, Kirtu KC, played constructively in coordination with the midfielders. Displaying wonderful individual skills to build up the attacking position, they played as a team player maximizing the team’s total performance. Parra Park’s skipper, Biswas Bhattarai, one long standing renowned footballer coolly
stepped up and scored a calm penalty sending the keeper the wrong way. The moral boosting penalty paved the way for the team’s win which was guaranteed by its very inspired and experienced goal keeper Santosh Shrestha. He saved one penalty judging the ground shot side footed to the far end of his left hand by diving with well stretched arms. During the regular time, he had made one match saving goal tipping the powerful shot struck by the play maker midfielder of HLFC Dal Gurung off the top bar. Sunil Shakya Dhakhwa, the attacking midfielder cum left winger scored a winning goal for Parra FC. After winning the first major trophy for the first time the excited team managers duo Ashish Chokhal and Safal Khadka viewed,, “We’re happy with the team’s performances. The boys played following the team’s game plan. They kept pressing for the lead capturing the midfield or employing high line defense strategy. In the evenly contested match the boys put on natural game and avoided the mistake of releasing the ball randomly and nervously. They held the ball before making productive passes. Our players played in more organised way and they have been performing consistently and their convincing training and result-oriented practices yielded great success for the team. We’re proud to be a part of such an incredible tournament and winning the trophy always gives a special feeling. We always play positive football which makes all the difference. When you learn to play as a team player, you learn that everyone must contribute to maximize the team’s performance and individual best is less important than what is best for the team. It is the team that wins not an individual.” HLFC manager Gautam Lama viewed, “All players meant to celebrate the best that they have. All are committed to play honouring our shared values of the great game. The players believed that age is only the number; fitness is all that counts. To be the best you need to earn experience. We played our best game but we could not score in the final and in the tie breaker it is any team’s chance. Sport is all about competing well and we proved that. ”
In the title match in Free Age played between two high-flight Sydney teams Saint George Nepalese Football Club and Laligurans Football Club was a nail biter from the start to finish. The match could swing to any side. SGNC achieved the breakthrough with its impactful forward Sushanta Kunwar’s spectacular goal. He cashed in on a creatively set up through pass from the best midfielder award of the tournament winner SGNC playmaker Bibek Pratap Panta. He hit a cracker from just outside the D box. SGNC capitalized on its early lead with the SGNC ace scorer Ranjan Bhattarai while LFC was desperately trying to pull the level with its more players upfront. SGNC’s firebrand striker pounced on the ball fitted in the open space in the striking zone by the SGNC skipper captain UD Gurung and slammed a powerful trademark shot past the goalkeeper. LFC which had demolished some favourite title contenders in the knock out round rallied round with regrouping themselves but they could not convert the scoring opportunities owing to lack of finishing.
