ntroduction : A car loan is a specific type of personal loan provided to you by a financial institution or arranged by a car dealer to buy a new or used car. The first two important questions you should ask yourself are: i) How much money you have kept aside to buy a car (in other words, what is your budget); and ii) Whether you want to buy a new (brand) car or used car. Your repayment term can usually extend from 12 months to 7 years which is decided on the amount you wish to repay fortnightly or monthly.

Early repayments: The nature of your loan agreement might attract you an early repayment fee if you have some disposal money and you want to reduce the loan amount for your car loan. You should try to negotiate with the financial institution (loan provider) to waive early repayment fee if you wish to make such repayments. Exit fee: Exit fee, also known as early termination fee, means a fee charged by your financial institution when you pay off the loan early. You need to find out the provision related to exit fee on your loan agreement. There are some financial institutions on the market that don’t have exit fees. A wise advice: Contracts are legally enforceable, therefore do not sign anything unless you understand what you are agreeing to and you are certain you are able to discharge your contractual obligations. If your loan has not been approved, ensure that the contract for purchase of the car is conditional upon you obtaining the loan successfully. In such case, if the financial institution rejects your loan application, you do not need to complete the purchase. Insurance: In addition to Compulsory Third Party (CTP) personal injury insurance (which is mandatory to take the car out on the road), there are two other types of insurance available for your vehicle: 1. Third party property insurance: It protects you from the claim against the damage done by your car to someone else’s vehicle or property. 2. Comprehensive Insurance: It provides third party property cover and also covers your car for accidental damage, theft and fire. You might also be interested to add in many accessories in the car and take insurance products to protect against loan and short fall upon suggestion of the car dealer. These offers may be good value for the money paid for insurance cover. However, you need to think twice evaluating your personal circumstances before you take up these offers. These facilities can really add up, and leave you with a bigger debt. Governing Law: All credit transactions that are predominantly for personal, domestic, or household use are regulated by the National Credit Code. Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is the national regulator for consumer credit. Conclusion You should not forget that some associated costs also come with your ownership of a car such as stamp duty, registration and transfer costs, insurance, maintenance and repair costs. Recently he was honoured with a valuable certificate from the internationally renowned Martial Art Player cum Trainer and President of ‘Australian Pankration Federation’-Master Costa Prasoula on the occasion of completing one-month long Advance Training of Pankration (Mix Martial Arts) at the Zeus International Martial Arts Academy, Sydney. The Black Belt Leadership Program aimed to develop the trainees' high level of self discipline, positive attitude and self- defence skills. He has a vision to develop award winning programs which help individuals to achieve their best, build confidence, promote discipline, create positive attitude, inspiring atmosphere, learn new skills and look after their mind and body to make their training a way of life.
