IMPORTANT DETAILS ABOUT ART CLASSES:
Open to guests of all ages. Shuttle service is available. Smocks are provided, but it is recommended that all guests wear clothes that can get messy. Adults must provide valid ID for alcohol.
For children ages 2-4, one adult parent or guardian must be present for the duration of the class. For children ages 5+, an adult parent or guardian must be present for drop-off and pick-up from the session.
ARTIST SERIES
An established artist will walk you through their artistic style and help you create your own Nemacolin memory. Limited availability and seating.

BEGINNER KNITTING
This 90-minute introductory class invites guests to explore the foundational techniques of knitting, including casting on, binding off, and learning essential stitch patterns to create dimension and texture. With guidance on increasing and decreasing stitches, participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and terminology to continue crafting unique and beautiful knitting creations.

BRICK PRINT WITH LEGOS
In this 60-minute class, guests will explore printmaking by using Legos to craft playful seasonal patterns and images. Through hands-on guidance, participants will learn to create a Lego "plate," apply inks, use brayers, and experiment with registration, layering, and other foundational printmaking techniques. By the end, each guest will have a collection of custom seasonal stationery. Recommended for ages 8 and up, as this class uses small pieces that may pose a choking hazard.

CANDLE-MAKING EXPERIENCE
The Nemacolin Art Studio's Candle-Making experience offers a distinctive and educational opportunity to craft a signature scent inspired by your time in the Laurel Highlands. Guided by our skilled studio instructors, guests will be led through each step in creating a custom candle. We suggest reserving 30 to 60 minutes for this activity. Please inform your instructor of any known allergies, as many of our scents include oils from natural ingredients.

CREATE CAFE
Guests of all ages can visit the studio and explore various art projects. Join us to relax, destress, and experiment at your own pace, or participate in a guided art activity led by an art instructor. Reservations are recommended.

PLEIN AIR
Let the marvels of the mountains become your inspiration. In this 90-minute oil or watercolor painting experience, an art instructor will guide you through creating your own Plein Air masterpiece. From beginners to professionals, artists of all ages are welcome to explore oil or watercolor painting among the panoramic views of the Laurel Highlands. This is an outdoor class, and guests should be prepared to wear sun protection and comfortable walking shoes.

PRIVATE ART SESSION
Create art at your heart’s content during a private art session in the Nemacolin Art Studios. Guests of all ages customize their own project, and instructors are available to give step-by-step instruction or to simply supply the artists with their materials. Each session has a multitude of projects available.

WATERCOLOR 101
In this 90-minute guided class, you will learn a multitude of techniques to begin your own watercolor journey. You’ll create your own geometric watercolor masterpiece using a step-by-step process. No previous painting experience is required. Includes all necessary materials and a glass of wine.

After learning a few basic watercolor techniques, try your hand at painting your very first watercolor florals inspired by the flowers adorning the resort’s more than 2,200 acres.

SENSORY STATIONS
Sensory play can facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate, and explore. During this one-hour session, guests ages 2-4 years old will make diverse art projects stemming from themes of sensory discovery.

INDOOR ART TOUR
Consisting of over 1,000 individual pieces, the multi-million-dollar Hardy Family Art Collection graces all aspects of the resort. The collection includes artists such as Fernando Botero, Clarice Smith, Giampaolo Seguso, Frederic Remington, Tiffany Studios, Frank Stella, George Hetzel, Chihuly, and more. Based on resort occupancy; 24-hour advance reservation required.

FALLING ROCK ART TOUR
Experience architectural excellence reimagined! Meeting at Falling Rock, this guided tour will showcase the architectural similarities between Nemacolin’s own Falling Rock boutique hotel and the local history and attraction of Fallingwater — a home built by world-renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

AUDUBON VIEWINGS
Guests can view a page from our Audubon collection each day. Private viewings of this world-renowned book are available. Based on resort occupancy.

OUTDOOR SCULPTURE TOUR
This driving tour begins at The Chateau Lobby and highlights 25 of Nemacolin’s sculptures throughout property, including works by Fernando Botero, William Barrett, Glenna Goodacre, Jim Rennert, and others. The tour culminates at Reflections, home to contemporary paintings and sculptures. Based on resort occupancy; sculpture tours may be canceled with inclement weather.
