This year’s Hardwick Live will take place in the picturesque grounds of Hardwick Hall Hotel on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th September. Simple Minds will headline the Friday, with The Jacksons taking top billing on the Saturday.

John Adamson, Managing Director of Ramside Estates, said; “We are flying The Jacksons in from the USA especially for Hardwick Live. Getting them is real coup for us as they’re loved by young and old, and this is a fantastic opportunity to see them live in the UK. I’ve no doubt that they will put on a sensational performance as will our Friday headliners Simple Minds.”

The four brothers of pop legend Michael Jackson – Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie and Tito - will headline the Saturday night, performing Jackson 5 and The Jacksons hits such as ABC, I Want You Back, Blame it On the Boogie, Can you Feel it and I’ll Be There - still the best selling song in Motown history. Glaswegian band Simple Minds will headline the Friday stage. The Brit Award nominated band have had a string of hits including Alive and Kicking and Belfast Child as well as a US number one with Don’t You (Forget About Me), the anthem of 80s teen movie The Breakfast Club. Even more acts for the Friday will be announced in the coming weeks for what is sure to be an incredible night of music.

Joining Simple Minds on the new Friday night of Hardwick Live are Scouting for Girls and The Sherlocks. The four times Brit Award winning Scouting for Girls are one of the most successful UK acts of the last decade. The band have chalked up a string of hit’s including ‘She’s So Lovely’, ‘Elvis Ain’t Dead’ and the Ivor Novello Award winning ‘This Ain’t A Love Song’.

Also on the bill are rising Yorkshire act The Sherlocks. They’ve recently been taken on for management by the team behind Babyshambles, Pete Doherty and The View.

Eighties idol Adam Ant, lead singer of Adam and the Ants, will support The Jacksons on the Saturday line-up. Adam scored 10 top ten hits in the UK including three number one singles, and at one point had no fewer than eight singles in the UK Top 40 at the same time.

Soul singer Kenny Thomas, Teesside’s Cattle and Cane and London singer song-writer Emma Garrett, who cites 6 Music’s Laurene Laverne and Radio 1’s Mary Anne Hobbs as fans, will also perform on the Saturday.

Local Acts Twister and The Voluntears will also have an opportunity to perform to the Hardwick Live audience.

John added: “More than 8,500 people attended Hardwick Live last year which was tremendous in its first year and we’re hoping to attract even more families and music fans this year with our incredible line-up.

“We’re keen to promote local talent too so have included bands from the north east in the line-up for each day.” Big thumbs up from NE Love for that one John, wild horses wouldn’t keep us away especially since on top of all this, we know that Saturdays includes “The tree house DJ line up Graeme Park, Brandon Block and our boys the Manor Born residents Pete Wharrier, Rob Oxley and Michael Johnson

Fairground rides and street entertainers, a brass band, DJ stage and the luxurious Champagne Taittinger hot air balloon. There will also be an International food village as well as Champagne, Pimms and cocktails tents on site throughout the weekend.
