SCREENAGE KICKS PRESENT...

When it comes to cult classics, some films never seem to get old. But there’s nothing that brings cinema to life like Screenage Kicks’ unique and immersive pop-up events. After successfully launching with two sold out screenings of The Big Lebowski at Lane7, Screenage Kicks returned on Thurs 1st May with its full throttle screening of Reservoir Dogs. Taking place in another fitting surrounding for their film choice, the Tarantino cult classic was screened in the Stephenson Boiler Shop space. Crammed into the warehouse, punters were treated to live music, DJs, Reservoir Dogette dancers and a troupe of actors, recreating some of the film’s most intense scenes. With a fully stocked bar, featuring Wylam Brewery’s Mr Blond Dog Ale and Bloodbath cocktails, served alongside Reservoir Hot Dogs and Fat Hippo’s Sliced Ear Burgers, Screenage Kicks is more than just a film screening. The pop-up cinema offers a whole new way of enjoying old favourites, in an all-round sensory experience that brings something new to Newcastle’s entertainment calendar. If the last few sold out events haven’t already confirmed their status as the event for film lovers, the Screenage Kicks team are turning it up a notch. Teaming up with Vamos Festival to celebrate all things Latino, Screenage Kicks will be back with Almodovar’s outrageous 80s Spanish sex comedy, Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! Promising a riot of 80s fancy dress, Spanish drag queens, live flamenco dancers, actors, DJs, tapas and a fully flowing bar, on Friday 13th June, it’s definitely not one to be missed. And judging from the crowds packed into the last few events, if you don’t already have your ticket sorted then you’d better move, and fast l www.screenagekicks.co.uk www.facebook.com/wearescreenagekicks instagram.com/screenagekicks#
