Bad Boy is a global sports and lifestyle brand that is widely recognised in the fitness community. With roots in Brazil, Bad Boy now has a base in each continent of the globe. Its aim? To support the dedicated athlete in pursuit of their passion and the full realisation of their abilities, supporting the lifestyle of these dedicated sportsmen and women, so that the world can appreciate the skill, intelligence and dedication demonstrated by these athletes.

Bad Boy Europe was founded by John-Paul Gardner, a NorthEast business entrepreneur. September 2013 saw Bad Boy Europe launch the first ever Official Bad Boy Store in the world, at Intu Metrocentre, Gateshead. From there, Bad Boy Europe has expanded further and recently opened the world’s first Bad Boy Training Centre (BBTC) in Felling.

The BBTC is a social enterprise and offers free nutrition advice to members of the community, as well as a range of free fitness and exercise classes. Sporting a fully functional gym, full scale boxing ring and fight cage, top-of-the range training equipment and qualified fitness professionals from various martial arts and bodybuilding backgrounds.

Bad Boy Europe is going from strength to strength, pioneering fitness wear and equipment for all sporting abilities including ranges for boxing, various Martial Arts, women’s sportswear and equipment, Crossfit, weightlifting, bodybuilding, sports nutrition and an extensive lifestyle clothing line.

Bad Boy Europe has planted its roots firmly in the NorthEast where its CEO John-Paul is originally from. The brand’s official European headquarters are in Whitley Bay, where everything to do with the brand from design, marketing and resourcing starts and is distributed globally from the 20,000 square ft. warehouse.

Today, Bad Boy employs more than 40 people in the NorthEast of England. It is also a hub for a team MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) professionals who are sponsored by the Bad Boy brand. Bad Boy sponsors a number of elite athletes in these fields, on a regional, national and international scale.

One internationally acclaimed MMA athlete and brand ambassador is the number one Light Heavyweight contender for the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) title – Alexander Gustafsson, A.K.A the Mauler, who recently made a special trip to the North-East.

The 6’ 5” Swedish fighter, recently voted ‘Best International Fighter’ in the world at Fighter’s Only MMA awards, signed merchandise and had pictures taken with more than 500 fans at the Metrocentre store, before leading a number of seminars at the Bad Boy Training Centre.
