• Theater Rules - no eating and drinking inside, no bringing of school bags
BATTLE of the BRAINS -YEAR 7- GRANDFINALS CONTEST RULES
AND REGULATIONS
1. The competition begins at the tertiary level, followed by the primary level then the secondary level .
2 All teams will be competing for 2 rounds : EASY and DIFFICULT
3. Questions will be taken from these categories :
• Math
• Science
• Arts and Culture
• History
• General Information
4 There will be 15 questions per round
5. Contestants will be provided with answer boards and pens for their answers.
6 . The QUIZMASTER will read the question twice .
7. For questions not requiring problem solving, contestants will be given 15 SECONDS to write their answers on the answer boards.
8 For questions requiring problem solving (Math & Science) , contestants will be given 30 SECONDS to solve and write their answers on the answer board .
9 . A buzzer will sound when time is up. At the signal of the Quizmaster all contestants must put their pens down , raise their answer boards for the judges to check.
10. A WARNING is given to a first violation of this rule. A second violation means DISQUALIFICATION from that particular question.
11 . Each team must read their answer aloud at the Quizmaster's signal.
12 . After the judges h<we checked the answers, the Quizmaster and/or the
judges declares which contestant answered correctly or incorrectly. Corresponding points will then be awarded accordingly.
24 . PRIZES (CASH AND KIND)
I. WINNER * Cash
(for 3 pax)
II. COACH *Cash
25 The audience is requested to avoid heckling, coaching or making unnecessary noise at any time during the contest.
26 A Warning is given to those who do not follow contest rules A second offense means Disqualification from the contest.
27 All participants will be given PLAQUES by the organizers
28. STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR APPEALS
A. Appeal forms will be provided to the coaches. Only formal complaints made in writing will be entertained. Appeals should be coursed through a representative assigned by the producers and organizers . All protests must be filed before a winner is proclaimed.
B. Valid Grounds for appeals:
• Correct answer ccnsidered incorrect
• Wrong answers considered correct
• Miscalculations of money points
C Formal appeals will be reviewed by the Board of Judges , the Producers , Organizers and the Quizmaster
D Decis ions arrived at are final and unappeable.
E. Should the appeal be deemed valid but will not change the outcome of the contest , the complainant will be awarded with money points.
F Should the complainant be deemed valid and will change the outcome of the contest , the complainant will be proclaimed Winner. ·
G . Should the complaint be deemed valid and would result in a tie, clincher questions will be administered to the two parties ( complainant and "winner" ) until a winner emerges.
H Producers and/or Organizers reserve the right to suspend proclamation of winner in the event of a valid protest.
I. Producers and/or Organizers reserve the right to ammend rules and regulations as situations might deem necessary, to ensure fair play and to protect the interest of the students, provided all contestants and their respective coaches are informed of the changes before the start of the contest proper .
29 THE DECISION OF THE BOARD OF JUDGES IS FINAL and UNAPPEALABLE.
NOTE: Please be warned of individuals who might approach you offering their coaching services and claiming to be endorsed by Battle of the Brains Uniwide, Focal Media Arts and the Program are in no way connected to this people and have in fact not endorsed anyone for the said purpose
