SCpE students of the Mariano Marcos State University secured places in all CPE Challenge categories in the just concluded 5th ICpEP Regional Convention, November 25-27 via zoom. The contestants who represented MMSU were chosen by the Computer Engineering Faculty Department. Winners of the said competition are: Angelito Andres Jr., Champion-C Programming; Keith Angelo Tumaneng, Champion-Python Programming; Clyde Jolo Abinsay, 1st Runner up-Java Programming; Walter Galicinao, 1st Runner Up-C++ Programming; Reynaldo Salvador Jr, Brizen Agsalog, Clifford Tugas, 2nd Runner Up-Pitch Competition; Janel Ruth Alfonso, Neil Bryant Baliao, Leah Antonette Mercado, 2nd Runner Up-Quizbowl; Marc Louie Pasion, Arlan Brent Quimoyog, John Kirlee Corpuz, Arnold Nicolas Jr., Yuri Borcena, 2nd Runner Up-Mobile Legends Tournament. The said convention also conducted webinars about Integrating Data Analytics in Design Project and Practical Hands-on Training Skills on Ethical Hacking. Moreover, 9 colleges and universities from Region 1 attended the event.

Abrojena, Baliao claim office seat during regional convention by marc louie pasion

The vice president internal and secretary positions were bagged by ICpEP.se officers Chalsea Rhea Abrojena and Neil Bryant Baliao, respectively during the 2021 ICpEP Regional Re-Organization held last November 23 via Zoom. The re-organization was a prequel to the annual 3-day Regional CPE convention that was held from November 25-27.

he Department of Computer Engineering end its academic year on a high note as both of its entries garnered top five finishes during the 2022 Research Colloquium held today at the College of Engineering. The first entry featured the study titled “Web-Based Interactive 360-Degrees Virtual Tour of the College of Engineering”, in which the team secured 2nd place. The members of the research team include: Mark Adrian Aguho, John Karlo Arellano, Alan Neale J. Bacay II, Marvin R. Domingo, Walter A. Galicinao, Kyle Christian E.

Izon, Leonard Vince L. Pastor, and Gilbert C. Rayoan, with Engr. Christian M. Libungan as their adviser. For the second entry, the group presented the research, “Small-scale Poultry System Using the Internet of Things (IOT) Platform”, a study that earned them the final spot in the top five. The members of the research team are the following: Christian Angelo Corpuz, Christian Jaylord Calzada, Phillip Joshua Lagadon, Jack Mahor, John Arvin Riñen, and Novelyn Salazar. Their adviser is Engr. Aljay B. Santos.

he newly-elected officers of the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines Student Edition (ICpEP.se) officially took their oath of office during the COE Induction Program headed by the COE Student Council which was held virtually on Zoom last October 6, 2021. The program was held to recognize the different officers of the various COE student organizations and for them to publicly commit to the responsibilities and obligations associated with their respective institutions. Engr. Mary Grace Matias, the organization’s new adviser, introduced the new set of ICpEP.se officers during the said induction, with newly-appointed President Chalsea Rhea Abrojena at the helm. Dr. Elizabeth Marfel T. Gagni, the Office of the Student Affairs and Services Director, was the inducting officer during the program. The rest of the officers of ICpEP.se include the following: Neil Bryant Baliao (VP Internal), Christian Rick Asuncion (VP External), Leah Antonette Mercado (Secretary), Klevin Dale Oania (Sub-Secretary), Rhone Mhea Joy Agtang (Treasurer), Alecx Samantha Franco (Sub-Treasurer), Kimberly Caluya (Auditor), Adrian Adamana (Business Manager), Arwin Viernes (PIO), Ljan Ross Butin (Male Athletic Manager), Staycy Khaye Rodrigo (Female Athletic Manager), Jhude Zedrick Pedronan (Male Peace Officer), Jocelyn Jimenez (Female Peace Officer), Jaylord Laed (Escort), and Princess Flores (Muse). The officers were nominated during the ICpEP.se Reorganization held virtually last September 23, 2021 and were deemed the winners the day afterwards.
