Hockey for Grace is a charity hockey tournament that allows Amy & Chris Manning a way to create a legacy beyond their grief, for their beautiful baby girl Grace who died when she was just 8 days old. Net proceeds benefit ; a children’s hospice and Grace’s home while she was here. The tournament returned to NTR on March 4th, after having to pause due to the pandemic. I stopped in to say hello and wish my neighbours a Happy Spring! There’s something extra fresh brewing in the air this year, which fills me with eager expectations for a special season in our quaint yet growing communities of Newmarket & Aurora.

Even though I’ve lived in Newmarket for almost 20 years, I fall more and more in love with the region and appreciate the fascinating people that make our community an eclectic and dynamically evolving wonder. Our big little towns have captured the heart of this city girl forever!

Born and raised in Toronto, most of my life and career were fashioned in the financial district in Private Wealth Management and Finance. My heart to serve and give-back always found passion in volunteering and connecting with people in other practical ways. It was over 20 years ago when just visiting family in Newmarket, that I connected with a community church and began volunteering with children & youth; it wasn’t long before Newmarket became my home.

Two of my most passionate pursuits here in the community are serving as Chair for Abuse Hurts, helping women, children and men escape abuse; and my career in helping families with Home Financing as a Mortgage Agent with The Mortgage Group.

Being able to help so many families in the first few months of 2023 even landed me special recognition in the TMG Million Dollar+ Mortgage Club.
