Rohan Goel - Legislative Page
On March 4th, Conrad Bobiwash; Indigenous educator, artist, owner and CEO of Conrad Bobiwash Art, opened The Art of Storytelling exhibit at Royal Rose Gallery, along with members of the community, gallery owner Rosa Calabrese, Mayor Mrakas, MPP Parsa, MP Taylor Roy and Councillor Gilliland. MP Aurora - Oak Ridges - Richmond Hill Leah Taylor Roy, also announced that Royal Rose Gallery received $100,000 under the Tourism Relief Fund. With this investment, Royal Rose Gallery supports local artists and artisans by proudly displaying and selling their works, as well as hosting annual exhibitions/programming of original artwork and limited editions prints.

My name is Rohan Goel and I am a proud resident of the Town of Aurora. I was fortunate to be elected as a Legislative Page to serve at Queens Park. I had an incredible experience working along with my fellow Pages and seeing first hand how the government works and how a bill becomes a law. During my term I had the opportunity to work closely with the Minister of my riding, Michael Parsa. He is an incredible individual, mentor and role model for me. As I worked closely with the Minister I learnt how he’s working hard to make housing affordable for all Ontario residents.
As Page, I listened to many discussions in the chamber of the current issues. It was very fascinating for me to see first hand how all political parties function and regarding the roles of many important positions in the chamber - speaker of the house, house leaders, clerks, Hansard and the sergeant at arms. Members of the parliament were all very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, which made the whole experience as a Page fun and memorable for me. I will cherish these lifelong memories!
This was a life changing experience and I would like to thank my parents (Veenu & Vinay Goel), my teacher & principal at Hartman P.S (Mr. Jackson & Mrs. Richmond), my Page coordinator ( Mr. G/ Franco Gutierrez ) and to the Minister of my riding ( Michael Parsa ) for all your support and trust in me in this incredible journey.

As your local premier accessibility consultants, we want to take this time to highlight the importance of home accessibility. As we age, we are wanting to stay in our homes longer and technology is allowing us to do so! It is also proven to be significantly more economical to modify our homes and stay in them versus selling our homes and looking at alternate solutions. Adding a stair lift to your straight or curved staircase can reduce falls and increase accessibility to the upper levels of your home. Updating your bathroom with a tub cut out is an easy and affordable option to modifying your bathroom and making stepping in and out of your tub a breeze.

A Message From Mpp Dawn Gallagher Murphy

Building our community together is my top priority. It has been a pleasure to attend numerous community events over the past few weeks to celebrate, congratulate, and recognize members and tour businesses in our community.
It was an honour to attend FIRST Robotics Canada competition held at Ray Twinney Complex on March 5th alongside my colleague Minister Lecce. It was incredible to see how innovative and passionate our youth are about STEM.
One of my goals as the MPP for Newmarket-Aurora is to visit, tour and get to know all the businesses in my riding. Mach was filled with numerous visits and tours of manufacturers right here in Newmarket-Aurora. On March 10th, I had the privilege of visiting CuBE Packaging in Aurora – it was great to be able to see and learn about how reusable containers are manufactured right here in my riding. I also toured Buchner Manufacturing Inc. in Newmarket where I learned the ins and outs of their operation.
On March 16th, I had the pleasure of touring Dentec Safety Specialists Inc. in Newmarket. They are a family-owned and operated manufacturing business that provides high quality safety solutions right here in my riding. It was wonderful to also learn about their background and tour the facility of TS Tech Canada, another manufacturing company in Newmarket.

While many claim to be environmentally conscious, there are few who are genuinely making a significant impact in sustainable building by creating meaningful solutions. Howland Green Homes is one such company, which aims to exceed net-zero standards and enter net positive territory. Their latest venture, the Wellington East Business Centre in Aurora (located at Wellington St. E and 404), is the largest o ce building in Canada that goes beyond net-zero standards.
“We can reduce our consumption greatly and it’s relatively easy to accomplish,” says Dave de Sylva, president of Howland Green Homes. “We need to use much less energy, in general, and start using today’s energy, such as solar and geothermal, rather than carbon-based options.”
Coming in at roughly 80,000 square feet, the Wellington East Business Centre will capture more renewable energy than it requires for the operation of the entire structure annually, reducing its operational energies by about 85% . Powered by sun and geothermal energy, it will serve as the perfect combination of ecology, economy and technological advancement. Owning a space at this building is saving more than just the planet. Thanks to all its focus on conservation, it’s saving businessowners money month over month, year over year.
Howland Green is a builder and developer of residential and commercial properties with a commitment to building with greater sustainability than any other builder in Canada. They have recently launched a new commercial o ce condominium in Aurora, with units now for sale.
