The Memorial, a contribution to the community by the Sumpwams Garden Club, stands in dedication to all who have served in the United States military. The Blue Star Memorial movement began with the planting of 8,000 Dogwood trees by the New Jersey Council of Garden Clubs in 1944 and has since spread.
