WORLD TILE
Dear valued readers,
On November 17, 1953 the very first issue of the South Bay’s Neighbor - then known as South Bay’s Official Shopping Newspaper - was published. Our company has evolved over time, yet has always remained privately and locally owned. We continue to stand by our commitment to delivering positive, hometown news, along with special features like reader contests and puzzles, and of course, advertisements from your favorite merchants.
Through both challenging and prosperous times, we’ve continued to publish every single week, always strongly believing in what we do. The wonderful feedback we consistently receive from our readers reminds us that the publication is valued and wanted.
In an age when information is available at our fingertips, the simplicity of a printed publication filled with trusted, upli ing stories is truly unmatched. There’s something special about turning the pages of a physical paper and reading about the people and events that shape our local community. We’re deeply grateful for your continued support, which has allowed us to keep doing what we do week a er week.
Over the years our company has expanded to also publish a monthly magazine, provide digital marketing services and offer a full range of printing solutions - helping businesses of all sizes create menus, post cards, flyers and more.
Keep an eye out for next week’s newspaper issue, themed for the holidays, featuring hosting tips, festive recipes and more. And don’t forget to shop small this Small Business Saturday - supporting the very businesses that serve as the backbone of our community.
Sincerely,
Jeff Lambert Owner and Publisher, Long Island Media Group

Participants are encouraged to wear holiday-themed costumes, tie jingle bells to their shoes and celebrate the
season while supporting a meaningful cause. The run begins at 10:30 am!
“All proceeds from the Jingle Bell Run support cutting-edge research, advocacy, and lifechanging resources for the more than 60 million Americans — including 300,000 children — living with arthritis,” said Alexis Stone, Executive Director, Arthritis Foundation, NYC. “It’s a fun, festive way to make a difference in the lives of those affected by arthritis right here in our community.”

Copiague Middle School Girls’ Field Hockey Team Finishes Undefeated Season With Win Over Babylon
Copiague’s Comeback Season Captivates Fans And Revives School Spirit
The Copiague Middle School Girls’ Field Hockey Team capped off a remarkable season with a victory over Babylon on Tuesday, October 28, securing an undefeated record and making history for the program.
This achievement is especially meaningful as the team competes in only its second season since the program’s revival. Under the leadership of Head Coach Stephen Temme and Assistant Coach John Louden, the Eagles have reignited enthusiasm for field hockey throughout the Copiague community. The coaches have emphasized both skill development and teamwork, laying a strong foundation for the program’s continued success.
What stands out most about this year’s squad is their rapid growth and unwavering dedication. Many of the players were new to the sport, yet through determination and effort, they transformed into a confident, cohesive unit. Their improvement was visible with each game, as they demonstrated both grit and grace on the field.
Coach Temme praised his players for their resilience and commitment, noting how much progress they made from the first practice to the final whistle. He highlighted their work ethic and teamwork as the driving forces behind their undefeated run.
The season finale against Babylon—an opponent that held them to a tie in the season opener—proved to be a fitting conclusion. This time, the Eagles rose to the challenge, showcasing their growth and finishing their season with a statement win.
The Copiague girls
have not only completed an undefeated season, but have also written an
inspiring chapter in the school’s athletic history— one that celebrates perseverance, unity, and the triumphant return of field hockey to Copiague.
The Copiague Middle School Girls’ Field Hockey Team celebrates their undefeated season after defeating Babylon in their final game on October 28. The victory marks a historic moment for the program in just its second season since being revived.
