On the Waterfront

Although it seems Traditionally, waterfront condominiums have been a solid investment. Since the U.S. has roughly 11,000 miles of coastline (not counting Alaska and Hawaii), and millions of people, it is not hard to understand why these homes are rare, and pricey, gems. Consider the Seaport District in Downtown Boston. Seaport has become one of the hottest areas in Boston to live. Like most condo buildings in the District, Fort Point Channel, Channel Center and FP3 are lofts with wide open floor plans, water and city views, designer kitchens and bathrooms and high ceilings too. Around this community, life is bustling. Seaport offers it's own slice of urban life with restaurants like Legal's Test Kitchen and cultural destinations namely the Institute of Contemporary Arts. In addition, the Boston's Children's Museum is great for kids of all ages. My son loves the train table. Speaking of trains, transportation is key for Seaport dwellers. Therefore, South Station is easily accessible as is the water taxi that takes 18

frequent flyers to Logan Airport from the Seaport Hotel. Yet, some say Boston is a concrete jungle. Hence, if you fancy scenic seascapes over city sirens, you might try Plymouth Harbor and Robbin's Wharf Condominiums. Robbin's Wharf abuts 18 acres of conservation land and is centrally located in the Harbor. Built in 2010, the site has 26 residences and three varying floor plans. Surfside is a 100 unit complex developed by Providence, RI's Gilbane Development Company. Out of the gross lot, 20 remain. In today's new developments, choice finishes and features are fairly common. Yet, what makes Surfside unique is the energy efficient features. Anderson 400 series windows and doors are used throughout the property. How Credit Affects Your Ability To Get A Mortgage by Peter DeFusco

Your credit is a still the major factor in determining if you will be approved for a mortgage. The way lenders asses your credit is by pulling your FICO scores from the three major credit bureaus, Experian, Trans Union, and Equifax. Each repository gives a numerical value to your credit which is known as your FICO score. Lenders will use the middle score to determine first if you are eligible and then what type of interest rate you may get. The three fico scores are always different because creditors sometimes only report to either one or two of the bureaus. The middle score gives the lender the best indication of your ability to pay the loan back.

Here’s how your score is determined: 35 percent is determined by your payment history. Do you regularly pay your bills or fines on time to any creditor that submits your information to the credit bureau? Even unpaid library fines, medical bills or parking tickets may appear here. 30 percent is based on the amounts you owe

a more central location with easier highway access. A vacant factory building located on Jefferson Boulevard was found as the ideal location and, in May of 2008, a Grand Opening Celebration was held for RIKB’s current 10,000 sq. ft. facility which houses the firm’s corporate offices, design department, warehouse, production facility, and Showroom. RIKB enjoys an award-winning reputation as a single-source team of designers, production and installation professionals working together to help customers from initial design through completed installation. The company’s unique “we do it all” service approach is unmatched in the Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts area. Four members of the design staff have earned their Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist designations, one has achieved her Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer designation (and teaches at RISD), and all are encouraged to further their professional development through continuing education, industry involvement and national conference attendance to stay up-to-date on kitchen and bath products, trends and ideas.
