golf’s true masterpieces. The Land of Bridges & Bike Paths I have often wondered what life was like before bridges were constructed to connect the East Bay to the rest of Rhode Island. In Tiverton there is Nanaquaket Bridge and the Sakonnet River Bridge which links Tiverton to Portsmouth RI. The Escape Bridge in Portsmouth connects Island Park and Common Fence Point. Also in Portsmouth the Mt Hope Bridge forms the next link connecting Aquidneck Island to the East Bay community of Bristol RI. The Palmer River Bridge and Barrington River Bridge complete the connection between Warren RI and Barrington RI. The new Providence River Bridge connects the East Bay to the capitol city, Providence. The East Bay is blessed with some of New England’s best bike paths and shoreline recreation amenities.
