state. Little Compton is quite simply quintessential seaside New England at its very best. This small community is home to magnificent oceanfront homes and is dotted with historic farmland and vineyards looking out over the Sakonnet Passage of Narragansett Bay. If you are fortunate enough to spend a summer day on the exclusive links at Sakonnet Golf Club, Donald Ross who summered here and designed, the facility will treat you to one of

golf’s true masterpieces. The Land of Bridges & Bike Paths I have often wondered what life was like before bridges were constructed to connect the East Bay to the rest of Rhode Island. In Tiverton there is Nanaquaket Bridge and the Sakonnet River Bridge which links Tiverton to Portsmouth RI. The Escape Bridge in Portsmouth connects Island Park and Common Fence Point. Also in Portsmouth the Mt Hope Bridge forms the next link connecting Aquidneck Island to the East Bay community of Bristol RI. The Palmer River Bridge and Barrington River Bridge complete the connection between Warren RI and Barrington RI. The new Providence River Bridge connects the East Bay to the capitol city, Providence. The East Bay is blessed with some of New England’s best bike paths and shoreline recreation amenities. Bristol RI In the 1700s Bristol was a major port for the slave trade and later privateering flourished. During the American Revolution,
