As thechildren gatheredon thematon thefirstday ofschool, theexcitement, apprehension, anticipation was evidenton thefaces.Thefirstquestionon theirmindwas,

Do westillbelong to theKites andtheparachutes groups?Whichgroupam Iin.Will weall bein the sameroon?etc

Sparingno timeto clarify thedilemma, thechildren weredividedinto two newgroups.Thechallengewas to nowdecideanewnamefor eachofthegroups.

Thechildren wereencouragedto thinkofthenames themselves. Sincechildrenrelateto words and provocations setupin their immediateenvironment, thestarter thinking ofnamesofanimals, colours, andcartoon characters, foodetc.Sincemany children areinterestedin sportsandtheIPLseason had justgotover, thememory oftheteams was still freshin their minds, hencebegan anewseries of names, outofwhichthechildren chosethewordsraiders andchallengers.

WeareNeev children so can webeNeev Raiders andNeev Challengers saidachildandtherestagreed. TheFinal names hadbeen decided.

Thechildren wereinterestedin designing alogo for their teams;they werefurther divided into three groups eachdesigning alogooftheir choicefor theirrespectiveteams.

Eachteam hadthreelogos;thechallengewas whichonewas thebest.Eachgroupwantedtheir logo to bechosen.Thethoughtofcollaborating or choosing thebestfeaturesoutofall thelogos to makeanew one, hadnotcrossedtheir mind.

Explaining theirrepresentations.

Theteacher suggestedthatwemix thedesignsofthethreegroups to makeanewlogo.Theideawas well likedby everybody.Wesetto thetaskofredesigning thelogo together.Thechildren explained their designs andtalkedaboutwhy they hadusedcertain lines or dots or shapes.

Analysis/Reflection:-

The children clearly identify belonging to groups and show eagerness to make a start by developing their comfort levels. Feeling secure in certain relationships and willing to build on new ones. Their interests are evident in their representations. Love for space, Vehicles and knowledge of the world around them is apparent in their drawings. Being able to express their ideas with clarity makes them evolving communicators who will connect their experience with new learning’s .We will continue to set up more experiences which will lead to more collaboration between children .
